St. Francis Xavier Parish School champions families as the first witnesses to our faith and commits to provide a superior Catholic faith-based education that challenges every child through exceptional academic preparation from early childhood through eighth grade. While offering rigorous and innovative academic experiences, our diverse Catholic community fulfills the needs of the whole child - spiritually, intellectually, physically and emotionally. In meeting these needs in creative and thoughtful ways, we empower every child to reach their full potential. To that end, St. Francis Xavier Parish School accepts the call to stewardship, using our time and talent to proclaim the Gospel with love, service, and grace.
St. Francis Xavier Parish School, a vibrant ministry of St. Francis Xavier Parish, provides families with an outstanding educational choice by integrating our Catholic values of faithfulness, prayer and compassion into an excellent, comprehensive academic program. United with a welcoming and supportive community, we inspire students to achieve their full potential, empowering spiritual growth, cultivating life-long learning, championing servant leaders, while always recognizing the value and dignity of individuals.
|
We, the members of the St. Francis Xavier School community, believe that our school exists so that our students may come to know and love God while pursuing academic excellence and may develop an active faith life in the Catholic tradition. We believe that the daily example of our teachers and the witness of parents, who are the first heralds of the gospel for their children, provide our students with powerful models for Christian and human growth.
We strive to create a Catholic educational community in which the spiritual, intellectual, physical and emotional needs of each student are met within the scope of our educational program. In our pursuit of academic excellence, we provide our children with diverse educational opportunities, utilizing a variety of learning experiences so that we can prepare each student for a life of intellectual inquiry, prayer, and service to the world through the Church. In union with parents, we strive to discover and develop the unique gifts and talents of our children, moving them with dignity towards their Christian destiny.

| St. Francis Xavier Catholic Parish was established in 1890. The need for a Catholic school grew quickly, and within ten years, the Sisters of St. Joseph arrived in LaGrange to initiate a legacy of strong Catholic-faith based education. A building at the corner of Ogden and Brainard served as both a convent and the first St. Francis Xavier Parish School. A dedicated school building was built in 1903 with four classrooms, and 140 students enrolled by 1917. In 1949, the current school building opened to over 400 students and has remained a vital presence within the community. We remain true to our heritage and committed to our future. SFX has continued to improve the physical facilities to ensure a positive learning environment with ongoing updates of integrated technology and curriculum. In 2017 the parish dedicated Unity Hall, providing a creative new space that links the church and the education building. This space was dedicated to Congregation of St. Joseph, honoring their vital contributions to both our school and our parish. | | |
The 6th Annual Living Rosary at SFX School continued our tradition honoring October 7th as the feast of Our Lady of the Rosary. Members of the parish and school community prayed the rosary together. The Living Rosary was, again this year, made up of SFX 8th grade students representing rosary beads. Many thanks to Mary Freeman, Katie Kanzer, Susie Lehuta (parishioner, SFX Alumna '64 & retired school staff member), Ashley Augustyniak, and Sharon Garcia for coordinating the Rosary.
