FIRST SEMESTER FINALS SCHEDULE

Finals for the first semester will take place this week. Finals periods are spread out so students do not have more than 2 finals on a given day. Not every class will have a final and teachers should be communicating to students what the status is for their class. Friday after lunch is a time for makeup finals for high school students. High school students may leave early if they complete all their finals. Middle school students will have class. Click HERE for the finals schedule. Questions? Email the IS Main Office.

DISTRICT NEWS
FEBRUARY 8 ELECTION: TWO LEVIES RENEW FUNDING FOR STUDENTS, STAFF, AND SCHOOLS

Bellevue School District is asking our community to consider two levies in the February 8 election. These levies are not new taxes but renew current levies that expire later this year. These levies bridge the gap between state funding for our district and the cost of staff, tools, programs, and facilities our students need to become creators of their future world. Click here to learn more about our levy renewals.

On the ballot:
  • Proposition 1: Educational Programs and Operations Levy Renewal
Continues funding for critical day-to-day school operations to ensure EVERY student in our district has access to high-quality teaching and learning, supports to ensure the wellbeing of students, student programs, and opportunities for students such as performing arts, athletics, and after-school activities.
  • Proposition 2: Technology and Capital Projects Levy Renewal
Maintains our investment in student technology and facilities, so every BSD student has access to a safe and modern learning environment. Renewal of the Technology and Capital Projects Levy continues critical funding for student technology, classroom technology, technology training for educators and maintenance and updates to our school buildings to ensure they are healthy, comfortable, and safe.

Don't forget to turn in your ballots by February 8! For questions, contact the Bellevue School District.
FUNDING TOWN HALL WITH MELISSA DEVITA

TODAY, January 24, 6–6:30 PM

We invite our community to come to engage with Melissa deVita, Deputy Superintendent for Finance and Operations as she is joined by BSD students for a fun and informative town hall discussion about funding for district programs. The Funding Town Hall will take place virtually through Teams. More information about the school levies and funding is available on the district website. For questions, contact BSD.
TAKE THE FAMILY GRADING SURVEY

You are invited to participate in the BSD Family Grading Survey by February 1. This is an anonymous, seven-minute survey on grading. Consider your family's overall experience with grades and grading in Bellevue School District (BSD). Your input will help guide district work around grading practices. While the focus is on grades 6-12, all BSD families are invited to complete the survey. Questions? Email Anna Van Windekens, BSD Research Scientist.
NEW WINTER COVID DASHBOARD

Due to the recent surge in COVID cases, BSD had to change the way COVID case counts are reported. The new Winter COVID-19 Dashboard (January 4, 2022 – present) displays reported COVID cases of students and staff, whether or not they were in district buildings during their infectious period. Since this dashboard is not managed by contact tracers, it does not include information on transmissions, outbreaks, and quarantines. Questions? email BSD.
PRIORITIZING DIAGNOSTIC TESTING

Due to the current COVID-19 surge in our region, increased demand for COVID-19 testing, and subsequent delays in test results, the district has re-evaluated the testing program. In an effort to more quickly identify COVID-positive students and staff, the focus is now shifting from pooled testing to diagnostic testing. As a result, pooled screening testing will no longer be conducted after January 21. Click here to learn more about BSD COVID-19 testing. Questions? Email BSD.
NEW GUIDELINES FOR ISOLATION AND QUARANTINE

BSD has updated isolation and quarantine guidance to align with the Washington State Department of Health and Public Health – Seattle & King County. Timelines and protocols for who should quarantine or isolate and for how long are updated on our Responding to Cases and Suspected Cases webpage. For questions, email BSD.
TRANSPORTATION SERVICE REMINDERS

As COVID-19 continues to move through the area, the number of bus drivers available to transport students on any given day may fluctuate. As a result, there may be a temporary cancellation of specific routes. The department assesses route coverage on a daily basis, which is determined by driver availability. If your student’s route is canceled, you will be notified via the parent portal through Edulog, by 5:30 AM that morning. Sign up for Edulog here. For questions, call District Transportation at (425) 456-4512.
