Raising Radio and TV Revenues Worldwide!

15 September, 2024

Greetings from BBI:I am honored to again be a part of the 2024 Most Influential Women in Radio from Radio Ink. Thank you!

What Clients are saying about BBI:

"I wanted to let you know that I read, with interest, your article in Radio Ink about Memorial Day. At a time when a number of both religious and American/patriotic holidays are being redefined while other new holidays are being created, it would be a shame if Memorial Day lost its meaning and purpose."

Jeffrey M. Andrulonis

Founder/President Colonial Radio Group

October 14 and 15 I'll be in Deadwood, South Dakota to work with the SD Broadcasters Association. We'll be working both days on ideas to get 2025 off to a roaring start. Will you be there?

I'll be speaking to the Mississippi Association of Broadcasters Sept 24 and 25. Four sessions that will increase your revenue! Hope to see you there.

What Concerns Do Your Clients Have About 2025?

Are they different than this year?

man_scratches_head.jpg

This year, if you asked your clients what their Number 1 concern has been, you might have heard "finding enough staff". That's been a growing concern since business opened up in 2020.

You might also have heard "the cost of fuel and products". Inflation has become a major concern. Not only have our clients encountered difficulty in finding and keeping good employees who will provide great service to customers, businesses are now faced with raising their prices to keep up with higher costs.

Each day our clients wake up and try to successfully navigate an ever-changing business landscape. They juggle having the right products at the right time, taking care of customers with skeleton staffs, competing with hundreds of places consumers can buy what they sell, and trying to make a profit to stay in business. It's a balancing act!

As fuel costs have risen in the past 3 years, any product that moves anywhere, whether by air, boat, truck or train is affected by rising fuel costs.

As the cost of doing business goes up, only a portion of that cost can be passed along to their customers. The only way to safeguard their profit margin is to raise top-line revenue. That's where advertising comes in.

Advertising creates traffic. If we entice more warm bodies into stores, and the store converts them into sales, revenue goes up. Smart business owners know they must invest money to make money. The higher cost of doing business is EXACTLY why they need to advertise.

I'd like to point out that we need to be constantly asking the question, "What's the number 1 problem you are dealing with today?" The answer will change month to month, sometimes even week to week. What should their message be now? The answer to this question may tell us.

This becomes especially important as we prepare for the new year. Many of us will be renewing annual agreements with our clients. Do they need a different campaign? Can we add to their campaign? Can we add our digital products or additional stations? Are our messages on target? Asking the right questions will provide the answers we need to create successful campaigns.

Keeping pace with the shifting business landscape is a never-ending job: for us and for our clients. Keep asking questions. Help our clients to find answers. Higher revenue awaits for our clients and for us!

Happy Selling!

The Client's Corner

Bryson Broadcasting International is serving our clients two ways this year. In addition to in-person market visits, virtual sales training and sales meetings are available for your stations! We will customize the materials to meet your individual needs. Once a month, these sessions will be done live with your staff. The Zoom meeting platform allows for interaction and discussion as we teach the materials. It's more important than ever for our sales staffs to have great skills. Good skills are no longer good enough. We can raise the skill set of your staff.

Words to Live By ....

"The most valuable resource you can give customers is your time. Listen to them to uncover their real needs. Only then can you find a way to solve their problems or meet their expectations. Treat the cause, not just the symptoms." – Ginger Conlon
