2022 Vancouver International Tournament (VIT) is this weekend!

The 2022 VIT will take place on this 2022 May Long Weekend at the Burnaby Lake West Complex and will involve three divisions: Women’s Social, Mixed Social, and Women’s Masters.


Field Hockey BC looks forward to welcoming the teams for what we hope will be another memorable weekend for all.

The Club Championships & U12 Festival are coming up


Field Hockey BC, in partnership with host clubs, will deliver Championship events for U18, U16, and U14 players, and Festival events for U12 boys and girls. These events will take place across British Columbia in the coming weeks. See the full schedule below.

Online Community Umpire Course


The Online Community Courses is open to current FHBC Members FREE OF CHARGE; please contact sportdevelopment@fieldhockeybc.com to obtain the access code. The course consists of a series of lessons and practice questions designed to prepare you for the final quiz. You will need a grade of 75% or higher in order to pass the course.


For Non-FHBC Members or Members who are not registered for the current season, the cost of the course is $25. If you are a Non-FHBC Member or if you have an FHBC Membership that has not been renewed, you must REGISTER HERE.

2022 U18 Boys Club Championships – Call For Officials


FHBC is seeking Umpires – Provincial level and above – interested in officiating at the 2022 U18 Boys Club Championships. Reply with an expression of interest to info@fieldhockeybc.com. Please include your availability for these weekends.

Field Hockey Canada is hiring for Summer Jobs positions

Field Hockey Canada is hiring an events coordinator, a special project coordinator and a communications and marketing coordinator to support the organization’s programming this summer. All positions are made available thanks to the Government of Canada’s Canada Summer Jobs program.


Canada Summer Jobs provides wage subsidies to employers from not-for-profit organizations, the public sector, and private sector organizations with 50 or fewer full-time employees, to create quality summer work experiences for young people aged 15 to 30 years. The positions will run between eight and 10 weeks starting as early as June 1.

KidSport

KidSport provides financial assistance for children 18 and younger from families facing financial obstacles to participate in organized sport #SoALLKidsCanPlay. Visit kidsport.ca and find your local Chapter for details on eligibility and how to help this project.

In 2021, the KidSport BC program distributed $1.3 million in funding to help 4,164 children participate in 45 different sports in 132 communities across the province, including field hockey participants. Help support KidSport and, if you are in need of assistance, reach out to your local Chapter!
