June 6 CREATED TO DO GOOD WORKS

Ephesians 2:8-10 God saved you his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God. Salvation is not a reward for good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it. For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.

Because I live in a fallen world, I have a sinful nature. I am not a bad person. I do some good things. I try to be kind. I try to be helpful when I can. But my thoughts and actions are not always pure. I sin even when I am not thinking about it. So before a just and righteous God I have no hope. I can’t save myself. I face death. But God loves me. He understands me. And Jesus took my sin upon Himself. So by God’s grace through Faith in Jesus Christ, I have been saved from my sinful life. I will live. Thanks be to God.

So what is my response to this great gift? Paul says that “He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us.” So out of gratitude and in joy I can say “Thank you, Lord,” by loving and serving others and sharing the good things with which I have been blessed. – Jeff Severson

Abundant Grace Notes: No one is too young our too old to learn to share. Our Bible School kids will be sharing their artistic talents through an art sale to benefit the building fund at the picnic on June 19. If you have an artistic talent and would like to make a contribution of art, please let Kathy Mork know at klmork@yahoo.com.

And we’re hoping that jar full of change is growing daily!

We are excited to be rolling out with a new exciting fundraiser to help support the youth here at Grace Lutheran Church. This is a chance to really "INVEST" in what the youth are up to. Grace members and friends can buy a share of Youth Stock. Buying Youth Stock goes to help support things like the Summer Service Trip to South Carolina, Vacation Bible School, Confirmation Retreats, Post High School Care Packages and other fun fellowship/service events for our youth and families. Through financial support, we are able to keep our registration fees low for families to afford the opportunities at Grace.

Your donation of $250 not only get you the satisfaction of knowing you are helping support the youth at Grace have amazing opportunities to grow in spiritual growth in a community but you and a guest will also be invited to our 2022 Grace Lutheran Church Share Holders Luncheon on Sunday August 21st, 2022. At this luncheon following worship, the youth will serve a meal get a chance to talk about the trip to Hilton Head Island they were just on and you will get to see a video slideshow from the trip. The meal will be inspired by cuisine from the area we have visited and will probably include some BBQ. Distributing Meals for FOCP
Feeding our Community Partners (FOCP) has recently learned that local organizations who have provided mobile youth lunches over the past few summers will not be offering them this summer, leaving many youth hunger gaps in our area. FOCP is now looking for volunteers to help them out. They will be distributing lunches Monday - Friday to three locations around Mankato all summer. Some schools in the Mankato area provide lunches but at the schools so this leaves students who don't have access to a vehicle or aren't within walking distance from a school where they serve lunch, without access to a healthy meal. This opportunity would be to help distribute to three areas where it's harder for kids to be able to get to a school for lunch. This Lunch program starts June 6th and ends September 2nd. It would take from about 10:00am to 12:15.

If you would like to volunteer or have any questions contact Ben.

Violin Lessons Taught by Faith Bergevin
J. Faith Bergevin (Matzke) was raised in Good Thunder, MN. She began violin lessons at 8 years old at The Mankato Suzuki School of Music. In high school, she continued learning in the Twin Cities until attending Wheaton Conservatory of Music in 1988. She was a member of The Mankato Area Youth Symphony, The Mankato Symphony Orchestra, and Mankato West Orchestra Concertmistress. One favorite memory was traveling to the Soviet Union with the top orchestra in The Greater Twin Cities Youth Symphony organization.

She has taught extensively in both Mankato and Sedona, AZ. She especially loves teaching beginning students from four years old to 94 years young. Her teaching methods create a solid opportunity for early success.

Faith also loves working with groups of students to enrich people's lives, so there will be many opportunities for her students to bring the joy of music to others.
Ms. Bergevin plans to open her schedule to include lesson times held at Grace Lutheran Church.

All Are Welcome!

Worshiping Together

Our Facebook live stream is a great way to gather with others(although virtually)as we are all part of this assembly as we gather as the one body of Christ to chat, share a greeting of peace and worship together. A live stream of our worship is broadcasted every Sunday morning at 10:00 and is 50-60 minutes long.

If you do not have Facebook worship is will still be available on KTOE Sunday mornings at 10:00 and the rebroadcast on KTV Tuesday at 1:00 pm and again Wednesday at 7:15 pm. Past worships can also be found on YouTube and our Website. Our goal is that everyone will still have an opportunity to worship with us at Grace.

All the past worship services can be found by going to

In-Person Worship

We acknowledge that the risks of this pandemic are not over, and if you are unsure about being in the building, we encourage you to stay home and worship with us from a distance. If you enjoy worshipping from home, we encourage you to continue to do just that. We have opened our doors again but we encourage people to do what is best for your family right now. We want to offer the opportunity for everyone to connect with their faith in ways that are meaningful and meet you where you are. For now, we are glad you can be here with us, whether you are watching live on Facebook, listening on KTOE radio, following along on YouTube or KTV in Mankato. Even as we have returned to holding worship in our building, we will continue to provide these means of participating with us from a distance including a livestream on Facebook.

However you participate, now and in the future, we believe you are a part of this assembly, gathered as the one body of Christ to worship and celebrate our life of faith together.
