Como community member Leanna B. noticed the absence of our Halloween Decoration Map Initiative this year and exuberantly declared "Not on my watch!"*
Leanna, via the Como Neighborhood Facebook group, has opened a Google Doc for folks to add their decorated and/or Treat-friendly homes, and is curating an attached Google map as people add their entries. You can access both using the links above or going to bit.ly/2023ComoTrickorTreat
Thanks so much to Leanna for picking up our slack! We hope to work with her more going forward.😊

Know Your Como: Thanks for your Support!
The District 10 Como Community Council has had a great year! We have been so excited to see so many neighbors and community members participate in this past year's Neighborhood Events! November 16 is Give to the Max Day. In its 15th year, Give to the Max is an annual fundraising campaign for thousands of nonprofits and schools across Minnesota. For the next four weeks the Know your Como section will share reminders of some of the major events that are hosted by your Community Council. We ask for your financial support to keep these events alive and growing!
At our February Blizzard Breakfast event we partnered with North Dale Rec and Bethel Lutheran Church to serve a pancake breakfast to around 300 community members who also enjoyed s’mores, crafts, ice skating, and learning about resources from local partner organizations and city departments. We’re already putting the pieces together for our 2024 Blizzard Breakfast, set for February 3 back at North Dale! Read more...

The Leaves Are Here: Como CURB Cleanup
Now through November 30, in front of your own home!
Como Community Council is again teamed up with the Capitol Region Watershed District for the Como Curb Cleanup. When it rains, leaves on streets release nutrients into the water that flows into storm drains and the lake. There it becomes food for invasive algae. Join 100+ neighbors in sweeping your curb once a week this fall to help keep Lake Como clean with this surprisingly effective effort.
Signing up to be an official participant helps us track results and helps (a lot) to support future efforts! You can also represent with a cool Curb Cleanup Lawn Sign this year if you register!

Have you weighed in yet? Back to the 50's Parking Survey
The Minnesota Street Rod Association (MSRA), sponsor of MSRA BACK TO THE 50’S Weekend, is working with District 10 in learning the desires of residents as to parking in the neighborhood during the MSRA BACK TO THE 50’S Weekend.
We're offering a digital version of the survey you can participate-in and share with your neighbors. The questions are about making the street parking restrictions closer to those during the State Fair as well as gauging interest in lawn parking. It will take you less time to complete the survey than it did to read this!
