50th Anniversary Edition of the Cal High Yearbook (2024)
1) Purchasing a yearbook: Please check this list (link here) to see if you have purchased a yearbook (press <ctl><f> to find your name). A Yearbook Only option is available on Future Fund (link here) for $140 between September 1st and January 9th, 2024. After January 10th, Ms. Brindley must have a final count for the yearbook order and will be selling yearbooks for cash or check only in WL-1 until all the ordered yearbooks have been sold. The past two years we have sold out the yearbooks, so please DO NOT WAIT to purchase a yearbook.
2) Seniors!!!: Make sure you are included in the yearbook. Please refer to this letter for important Senior due dates and links concerning Portraits (Nov 9th is the new last day) and ads (Nov 27th is the last day).

Class of '24 Grad Night Celebration
We will once again continue the tradition of offering a Safe & Sober celebration for our 2024 graduates after the Graduation Ceremony. The event will be held on the Cal High campus and take place between 9pm and 1am on June 6th & 7th. Tickets are available to purchase via Future Fund for $150. Ticket price increases to $200 after December 31, 2023.

This year our theme for Art Reflections is I Am Hopeful Because...
We are proud to announce that we have 23 student submissions, with all 6 categories being represented!! This is the first time in many years that we have all 6 categories submitted. The quality and collection of work submitted is astonishing! What talented students we have here at California High School!
What happens now?
All art submitted is in the judging process at the School Level.
What happens next?
All students who participated in this year's Art Reflections are invited to the Showcase and Awards Ceremony. The School lLel awards will be announced at the ceremony! So please bring family and friends!

SRV Council of PTAs is Proud to Announce our Annual Reflections Showcase!
Join us on Thursday, December 7 for a celebration of hope as expressed through the National PTA Reflections Arts Program! SRVUSD Students of all ages were invited to express the theme "I am Hopeful Because..." through the arts! Students from every school in the district were invited to participate and we are proud to share the art work of those that advanced to the San Ramon Valley Council level.
We are particularly excited to partner with the City of San Ramon to showcase the art at the newly inaugurated Dougherty Station Community Arts Center! Everyone is invited to celebrate the art of our SRVUSD students on December 7 at 6pm. This event is FREE and OPEN TO THE PUBLIC! Save the date and plan to celebrate!

Season starts 10/30 and practices are Monday-Friday from 4:30-7pm in Cal High Wrestling/Dance room. First practice is on Monday, 10/30. No practice on 10/31.
Parent info night is Thursday, Nov 9 from 7pm-8pm PT in the Cal High Wrestling Room.

The purpose of the California High School Education Fund/Academic Boosters is to raise money to enhance learning at California High School. Our fundraising activities are managed by Cal High Parents and we support all students, at all grade levels, and at all levels of academic performance.

The annual SRVUSD College & Career Fair on Thursday evening was truly beautiful! We want to extend our heartfelt gratitude to the amazing 45 volunteers from California High, Dougherty Valley High, Monte Vista High, and San Ramon Valley High who came together to assist with event setup, check-ins, food service for college representatives, StriveScan support, cleanup, and more. Without your dedication and support, this event wouldn't have been as successful as it was.

Pine Valley Middle School Family Fest
Pine Valley Middle School is looking for Cal High student volunteers to help out at their Family Fest on November 4th. Please consider performing / volunteering for the following:
- Performing a group dance since CAL High teams are very talented and amazing
- Music/Singing group ( Fusion Of voice and Instrument) Any Genre
- Demo of your unique Robots on stage
- Face Painting ? Get your supplies for face painting along.
- Design Games like Family feud , Bingo , Spin the wheel and run that station
- Run the stations with PVMS leadership

SRVUSD is accepting applications for the Facilities Oversight and Advisory Committee (FOAC) | |
The application to serve on the Facilities Oversight and Advisory Committee (FOAC) for San Ramon Valley Unified School District (SRVUSD) is now open. The application must be submitted by Friday, November 3, 2023.
The Facilities Oversight and Advisory Committee (FOAC) fulfills the promise to voters that the expenditure of Measure D bond funds are scrutinized by an independent citizens’ oversight committee. These volunteer community members meet regularly throughout the year to review projects and expenditures related to the Measure D voter approved specific projects.
The charge of the FOAC is to:
- Provide oversight of Measure D facilities bond projects and expenditures;
- Review financial and performance audits and submit an annual report to the Board of Education;
The FOAC consists of at least seven (7) members, who are appointed by the SRVUSD Board of Education and shall serve for a term of at least two (2) years, without compensation, and for no more than three (3) consecutive terms. The membership will reflect the SRVUSD community. Education Code 15278 requires that representation be comprised as follows:
- One member shall be active in a business organization representing the business community located within the school district.
- One member shall be active in a senior citizens’ organization.
- One member shall be active in a bona fide taxpayers’ organization.
- One member shall be the parent or guardian of a child enrolled in the school district.
- One member shall be both a parent or guardian of a child enrolled in the school district and active in a parent-teacher organization, such as the Parent Teacher Association or school site council.

Explore.Act.Tell Program & Student Challenge
This program is fully funded by Albertson’s Nourishing Neighbors Foundation and FREE to all educators and students - and is designed for students to work on projects on fighting hunger and food insecurity in their own community.
• Grades 6-12 in a classroom or club environment
• Consists of a kick-off Leadership Lesson and then four interactive lessons with student and teacher lesson plans
• Students will practice the skills needed to become good citizens and advocate for community involvement and service
• Enter projects into the competition for a chance to win a $1,000-$2,500 grant for a hunger-focused charity of choice
