From Mrs. Pudelko:
Happy Easter -

If you attended any of the Masses at St. Anthony for Easter weekend, you saw the piece of artwork that students created together during Lent. I saw several families post pictures of their students by it on their social media pages. This was such a great community event and a great reminder that we are all a little broken, but "amazingly and miraculously made." We also are starting our crayon mosaic this week! All students will have the opportunity to help with this project. I've included a couple of pictures for a sneak peek...
We had a great Home and School Meeting this week! Our conversations focused on opportunities for student and family events, and we had some great ideas. As always, we are in need of additional volunteers. We need a couple of individuals to execute a plan for a scavenger hunt on May 15 during the Fiesta. If you are able to help, please contact the school office. This is a minimal time commitment but will be fun for kids and parents during our Fiesta. We also are in need of additional people to help with the Daddy Daughter Dance. If you can help for an hour or two or the whole day, your help would be appreciated. This is also a great opportunity for middle or high school service hours. The sign-up can be found here. We MUST have volunteers to make sure these events can go on!

Mr. Wieber and I will be meeting with 7th-grade students tomorrow morning to get input on events next year. As future leaders of the school, we want to have their input to continually improve our programming. I look forward to these conversations and will share our findings in the upcoming weeks.

The end of the year is busy. . . but fun! We are looking forward to a strong academic and social end to the school year!

May God bless you and your family this Easter season!

Jenny
A Note from Mr. Wieber:
Throughout the year, the school has conducted numerous safety drills for tornadoes, fires, and lockdowns. These practice drills are critical in developing patterns of safety and survival in case of an emergency.

This past week, I attended two safety/security seminars presented by the Kent County Sheriff's Department and the Walker Police Department. Both presentations advocated for continued "Active Threat and Lock Down" drills to prepare our students for any school emergency. These exercises include immediate class or school evacuation as well as lock-down scenarios. The police officials also urged us to be proactive and consistent with age-appropriate discussions and scenarios regarding school safety and procedures in an emergency. The safety of your child and all children in our school is very important to me. In order to maintain a safe environment for our children to study and learn, it is necessary that we continue to practice our emergency and crisis response plans by having drills designed to exercise our procedures.

Blessings,
Chad L. Wieber
