Your Recycling Questions Answered!

Does our recycling ACTUALLY get recycled?
Yes! While recycling markets experienced some shifts over the last few years, recycling has always stayed strong in Palm Beach County. Our dual-stream system makes our materials high quality and highly desirable, as evidenced by the revenue share the City receives from the sales of our recyclable material. Learn what materials should be recycled on our Recycling page.

Does recycling benefit the City?
Yes! Recycling not only saves money from avoiding disposal fees (over $200k last fiscal year) but it also generates income for the City through SWA’s revenue share program. Since 2010 the City has earned $1,227,226.75 from recycling! These savings and revenues help us continue to provide world-class sanitation service to our community and keep costs low for our residents. Visit the Take Action page to learn more about recycling in our county and at our beaches.
