This year, JFS is poised to serve more than 30,000 people in need of food, counseling, immigration/citizenship assistance, career development and other essential services. Be a part of our efforts, join us on June 11th at our 2023 One Community Gala to honor the people we serve, celebrate the partnerships we have forged, and deepen our connections with generous donors and supporters.

In the first half of 2023, we have:

  • served 190 Holocaust Survivors
  • delivered 18,000 Kosher Meals on Wheels
  • assisted 560 Immigrants
  • distributed 3,300 bags of food from our Kosher Food Pantries
  • provided 2,400 counseling sessions

We have also supported single parents on their journey to become self-sufficient after the loss of a partner, hosted lunch programs to keep seniors nourished, engaged and active, and educated hundreds of Medicare recipients on plan options and avoiding fraud.

At the heart of it all, our community is built on compassion, inclusivity, and the belief that together, we can create lasting change. Senior Medicare Patrol of NJ:

Quarterly Newsletter

The Senior Medicare Patrol of NJ (SMP NJ) has released issue #37 of the SMP New Jersey Advocate, a quarterly newsletter that covers Medicare fraud, waste and abuse and other matters related to Medicare. This issue highlights Medicare Fraud Prevention Week and how to fight Medicare fraud.

In the “ASK CHARLES” column, Program Director Charles Clarkson addresses the issue of what to do if you discover your primary care doctor is not in your plan’s network.

Take a look inside or share with a Medicare beneficiary to help them learn about fraud and abuse. For more information about SMP NJ, visit seniormedicarepatrolnj.org or JFS Senior Services. If you would like SMP to cover a topic of interest to you and/or your beneficiaries, email office@jfsmiddlesex.org.

The SMP staff and volunteers work hard to combat Medicare fraud. Please let us know if you hear of any Medicare scams in your area.
