Call for Donations to Pancake Tuesday

We hope you have been enjoying the return of Pancake Tuesday! Just a friendly reminder that the supplies are entirely donation-driven so if you are able, please donate using the black lock box in the 5th floor kitchen or Venmo, Sophie Samiee (@sophiesss). The supplies have cost ~$25/month, so even $1 from everyone would go a long way!

We would hate to run out of supplies and have to stop.

Awards and Publications

Congratulations to Babak Javid for his election to the prestigious American Society for Clinical Investigation (the ASCI). Election to the ASCI is a significant honor that recognizes an investigator’s contributions to biomedical science and human health. The process is rigorous, and each year only a fraction of those that are nominated are elected. With Babak’s election, the DEM now has 3 faculty members of the ASCI.

Tim Henrich was interviewed by Amy Proal from the PolyBio Research Foundation for his work on Imaging deep tissue SARS-CoV-2 reservoirs in Long Covid.

Tim Henrich and the Henrich Lab were written up in the LA Times article titled "Scientists hope viruses hiding out in patients hold answers to long COVID."

Congratulations to Shayleen Singh for her admission to the UCSF PROPEL program.
