Registered and ready to pay for your 2022 garden plot?

Please visit the office anytime between Monday and Friday to pay for your garden plot. The office is closed daily between 12pm and 1pm. All fees need to be paid by April 1, 2022.

Seed Library

The Shelburne Seed Library is open! Check-out the Shelburne Public Library for a selection of flowers, veggies, and herbs seeds. Patrons are welcome select and record the seed they take, during regular Library Hours. Please only take what you need and intend to grow. The seed library is located upstairs in front of the main circulation desk.

Tips for preparing your garden after winter


  • Clear leaf mulch from the crowns of perennials and wherever bulbs grow
  • Cut back dead stems of perennials
  • Plant bare-root plants once soil is workable
  • Press back perennials heaved by frost
  • Remove protective plant coverings, such as burlap and evergreen boughs
  • Top-dress beds with compost once the ground thaws
