SeedMoney Offers Challenge Grants to Food Garden Projects
Grants are open to all types of public food garden projects, including youth gardens, community gardens, food bank gardens, school gardens, etc., regardless of their location. For 2022, 370 grants ranging from $100 to $1,000 and totaling over $75,000 will be provided.

FRAC Action Alert: Tell your Congressional Delegation to Extend Free Breakfast and Lunch for all Students
House Representatives Josh Gottheimer (D-NJ), Katie Porter (D-CA), and Abigail Spanberger (D-VA) led an effort last week that generated a bi-partisan letter from 48 Members of Congress to House and Senate leadership urging an extension of federally-provided school breakfast and lunch to all qualifying schools in the upcoming government budget funding package/the Continuing Resolution. Congress continues work to finalize the Continuing Resolution which must pass before October 1.

An interactive tool using Google Maps to help people easily locate free food and hot meals in Palm Beach County. This online tool was created to connect individuals seeking food resources to sites near them. Information is English, Spanish, and Creole. United Way updates the information listed on this map weekly. However, locations and hours of distribution may change. Please consider calling the site prior to visiting to verify the information listed. Please note that sites may have specific requirements such as ID.

Office of Community Revitalization's In-CROWD Free University
The Office of Community Revitalization is pleased to inform the CCRT communities that there are a number of classes available for you to participate in. OCR is directing your attention to the two classes. The Food Service class offers training on becoming a waiter or a chef. Upon successfully completing the course, you will be offered an opportunity of employment at the number of restaurants owned by Rodney Mayo, SubCulture. The STEM Star Math Tutoring/Mentoring Program will provide assistance high school math. This is an excellent opportunity to sign-up for math tutoring free of charge.

Be a Volunteer Tutor - Literacy Coalition Volunteer Tutor Training
The Literacy Coalition of Palm Beach County is seeking volunteer tutors to work one-on-one with elementary school students during school hours at selected elementary schools throughout Palm Beach County, including Belle Glade and Canal Point. Time required: 90 minutes twice a week or partner with another volunteer to tutor 90 minutes once a week. Training is required and is provided by the Literacy Coalition of Palm Beach County.

In Need of Masks? Contact The Glades Initiative, Inc.
If you or people you know need masks, The Glades Initiative has masks and will share them with anyone in the Glades who needs them. These are the white two-ply reusable washable masks given by the health department. Call or come by to pick them up as long as supplies last.
If you are with a group of vulnerable people and need more than 20, call us first and we will do our best to help you get what you need.
