at Waltonville road to be Closed
The Jon Eshenour Bike trail crossing at Waltonville road will be closed starting May 23, 2022, during the construction of Hershey West end/Roundabout.

DELAYED Road Closure
Waltonville Road - between Wood Rd & Rt. 322
There has been a delay with the road closure for the section of Waltonville Road between Wood Road and Route 322. Initially, it was scheduled for mid-March, however, it is still delayed, more information to follow.
Derry Township Police Department to host
2022 NATIONAL NIGHT OUT EVENT
Derry Township’s Annual National Night Out is scheduled for Tuesday, August 2nd, 2022 from 6:00-8:00 PM in the 1st block of West Caracas Avenue. This is an annual event, come join the fun, and connect with your friends, neighbors, and the community!

The Derry Township Parks & Recreation is looking to hire Lifeguards for the new Derry Township Community Center. Lifeguards assist in the maintenance of the swimming pools, monitor and record the pool chemistry, and provide for the overall general health, safety, and enjoyment of the pool patrons. Jazz at the Barnyard
at the Hershey History Center
Starting, Friday, June 3, 2022, 7:00 pm

Jazz at the Barnyard at the Hershey History Center returns on the first Fridays of June, July, August, and September! Bring your friends, your chairs, and your beverage of choice, and relax with great music from some of Central PA’s best jazz musicians. The patio opens at 6 pm and the music is from 7-10 pm. Enjoy the best views of the iconic Hershey smokestacks and cocoa bean silos. The event is free and donations are encouraged. The entertainment schedule is June 3 – Mockingbird Duo, July 1Little Brother Band,

Tim Zimmerman & The King's Brass
Friday, June 3, 2022, 7:00 pm

Tim Zimmerman and the King’s Brass will present the “best in sacred brass music” in the Sanctuary at Derry Presbyterian Church, 248 East Derry Road, Hershey. 
The concert is part of the church’s 2022 Arts Alive! cultural series. A free-will offering will be received. Handicapped parking and an elevator are available. Face masks for audience members are optional. The King's Brass is comprised of nine professional musicians from across the country who desire to use the instruments they love to lead others in praise and worship. For 40 years, The King's Brass has performed over one hundred concerts each season with three trumpets, three trombones, a tuba, keyboards, and percussion. Playing a wide variety of music from Gabrieli to hymn classics, from Handel to jazz spirituals, from Christmas carols to patriotic marches, The King's Brass uses all corners of the concert hall to lift hearts and spirits in praise. Penn State Health - CPR Classes
Thursday, June 9, 2022, 5:00 - 9:00 pm

Penn State Health Holy Spirit Medical Center and West Shore Regional Police Department will offer a free CPR class. American Heart Association-trained instructors will teach the class in the meeting room of the police department, located at 510 Herman Ave., Lemoyne. The course will teach the participants the skills needed to successfully perform CPR on a victim of cardiac arrest, show them how to help a person who is choking, and demonstrate the use of an automated external defibrillator (AED). The American Heart Association Family and Friends CPR course is intended to teach the lay public and is not a certification course. To register by calling at

Derry Township Community Cats provides trap, neuter, vaccinate and return services for township residents assisting free-roaming cats in our community. The next clinic is on June 14. GriefShare Support Group Set

GriefShare, a 13-week seminar and support group for people grieving the death of someone close, is being held 2:00-4:00 pm Mondays, June 27 – September 19 at Derry Presbyterian Church, 248 East Derry Road, Hershey. There is no cost to attend the program, but registration is requested: contact the church office at 717-533-9667. Those interested may begin attending the GriefShare group at any time. Each session is self-contained, and any missed weeks can be joined when the next 13-week cycle is offered. Face masks are optional. Child care is not available. Derry Presbyterian Church is a congregation of the Presbyterian Church (USA). Worship services are held on Sundays at 8:00 and 10:30 am. Hershey Rotary- Exchange Student
The Hershey Rotary Club will be hosting Julia, a female student from Brazil, and is seeking potential host families for a three-month time period during the 2022-2023 school year. Host families must live in the Derry Township School District, provide room and board, exercise normal parental responsibilities and supervision of the student, accept the student as one of the family and work with the assistance of a Rotary counselor if the student encounters any difficulties. 
Rotary International facilitates international student exchange, which enables approximately 7,000 students to study abroad each year. Federated Women's Club of Hershey
In an unprecedented dual presentation of used eyeglasses by two local organizations, the Hershey Lions Club received almost 2,500 pairs of used eyeglasses at its recent May meeting held at the Hershey History Center. The Federated Women’s Club of Hershey previously donated 130-pairs of used eyeglasses in 2020 and another 176-pairs of used eyeglasses that had been collected during 2021 were currently being presented by Carol Foley, the state and local club chairperson for the project. Click this link for more information.
The Hershey Lions Club - Membership
The Hershey Lions Club semiannually performs membership recruitment, normally during the months of April and October, however, any month of the year is ideal to express membership interest in the Hershey Lions Club. The Hershey Lions Club president, Steve Gallerizzo shared, "The Hershey Lions Club is always looking to expand our membership base as well as our commitment to the community with hands-on projects."
