Hello Maria,

In this issue, we are observing Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month (AAPIHM), as we bring awareness to the successes and challenges Asian Americans face. Also in this issue, you will gain insight in this month's staff recommendation on workplace appreciation and how to tell the difference between recognizing and appreciating employees. We hope you enjoy this month's top picks in our "Read, Watch, and Listen" section.

Additionally, if you are interested in any of our past IDEA trainings, they are all recorded and accessible in our webinar archive, specifically under the DE&I section.

We hope that you take advantage of the resources for this month, and if you have a resource that you think would be worthwhile to share, tell us about it!

What We're Learning

The 5 Languages of Appreciation in the Workplace helps capture the message of empowering organizations by elevating employee engagement and feeling valued. "I was curious to know what my top languages would be according to this book. The most insightful information touched on the differences between recognition and appreciation of employees. It also reminded me to be cognizant that we as people are all different, and we respond to different forms of motivation or appreciation." Communicating appreciation and encouragement goes a long way. This book may help you steer in the right direction, and apply some of these concepts.
