We are excited to have Spring in full force, but it's was tough to say goodbye to everyone who celebrated our 75th Anniversary at the 2023 RFABC Conference and Trade Show!

ONLINE INFO SESSION
How Does this Impact your Waterslides?
Tuesday, June 20th, 2023 | 1:30-2:30pm | ZOOM
Join Melissa Mennell, TSBC Field Services Leader for Ropeways and Amusements, online for an overview of the current Amusement Devices Program and potential regulatory changes.

Content of this session will focus on:

  • Current state of the Amusement Devices Program

  • Potential changes on recreation facility operations in relation to waterslides and inflatables.

  • Equipping participants with the ability to start building an implementation plan for regulatory changes. 

  • Information on what to look for in an Amusement Device Contractor

There will be time after the presentation for questions and discussion.
All proceeds go to the Recreation Foundation of British Columbia to be invested in the future of recreation, parks, environmentalism, and culture by empowering students and non-profit organizations with scholarships and grants.
Lifesaving Society Silent Auction is Back!
The Lifesaving Society is so excited to announce that their Online Auction is back May 20-June 1!
 
The Online Auction will raise funds for the Swim to Survive Program which aims to reduce drowning by teaching children and adults how to survive an unexpected fall into deep water. Their goal is to raise $10,000 to give 500 people the opportunity to participate in Swim to Survive.

The program has funded over 20,000 participants over the past several years and will continue to do so with your help!

MANAGEMENT WEBINAR

Many may feel that asset management is not a part of their responsibilities because the local government has a dedicated individual for Asset Management. While that might be the case - our routine operations including staffing, maintenance, risk management, patron feedback, budgeting, etc. are all key factors of Asset Management.

This webinar will help participants better understand how to use Asset Management and apply the fundamentals to improve operations and experience for all stakeholders.

PUBLIC CONSULTATION: OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH & SAFETY REGULATION
WorkSafeBC is holding a public consultation on proposed amendments to Part 5 of the Occupational Health and Safety Regulation, relating to emergency planning (hazardous substances).

This consultation phase is an opportunity to provide feedback, which will be carefully reviewed, before the proposed amendments are taken to public hearing.
