Congratulations to the SRL Rowers who competed at the August 10 th 2024 SRL Championship Regatta! It

was a beautiful day topped off with Progress Pilsner from Market Garden Brewery. The two freighter

What is the difference between General Sweeps and HOTC Prep?

General Sweeps Independent Boats (aka Buddy Boats) are for individuals that are at a minimum SQL

certified or are a member of a submitted crew that meets the SaM mandatory certification requirements for an

8+ boat. Five (5) of the eight (8) rowers in the shell must be SQL certified. This is NOT designated as a

coached program. ALL members that row as an independent boat must be registered in the General Sweeps

Program. A Crossbar group is available on the Crossbar app with all members who have registered/paid to

row in the General Sweeps Program. This app is also a source for finding other rowers or substitutes qualified

to row General Sweeps. Novice/first year rowers must have coaching approval to join General Sweeps.

HOTC Preparation Program: This is a 4-week program (Aug 18, Aug 25, Sept 8 and Sept. 14). This is NOT

a coached program. However, there will be coaches on safety launches at the blind turns for supervision. The HOTC Prep Program ends on Sept.14th . There will be no make-up or additional rows permitted.

Fall 2024 Equipment Reservation Process

Masters and General Sweeps must reserve boats on Crossbar.

Go to the WRRA website: https://www.westernreserverowing.com/program/boat-reservation/10240.

1. Scroll down to the Register button on the right side of the page then click on Register.

2. Select your name, confirm your account then click on the green Continue button.

3. Find the date and boat you would like to reserve then click the Black button ($0.00). You can

also choose multiple boats and/or days there.

4. Click on the Green Continue button at bottom of the page.

5. Program Director will assign you a cox box if needed (General Sweeps), click on Continue.

6. Confirm date, time and boat.

7. Click Complete Registration.

The Program Director will receive an email and will assign a cox box. You are responsible for that cox box and will need to take a picture removing it from cabinet and then again when returning to cabinet. These are very expensive devices and need to be treated with care.

HOTC boats and equipment:

All requests for using WRRA boats and equipment for the HOTC must be emailed to Heidi Lamb, WRRA

Program Director, by August 30, 2024 (programdirector@westernreserverowing.com). Remaining WRRA

boats and equipment will be made available to rent to other clubs participating in the HOTC on September 1 st .
