Paper - Advancing Protein Structure Analysis For Drug Development

In a paper at JoVE, James Sandy et al. delineate the procedures for employing the Crystallization Facility at Harwell and the VMXi beamline at Diamond Light Source for robotic protein crystallization and in situ room-temperature data collection. This approach allows for the determination of high-quality room-temperature crystal structures and offers prompt feedback on crystallization trial outcomes. The system is globally accessible through multiple modes of access, enabling remote setup and imaging of crystallization experiments, with automatic crystal identification using a machine learning tool. (Our In Situ-1 Crystallization Plates are used at these facilities)

GloCube Plus Glow Discharge System For TEM Grids

GloCube Plus Glow Discharge System for TEM Grids

The GloQube™ Plus is the first-of-its-kind compact, easy to use, stand-alone glow discharge system.

The primary application of GloQube™ Plus is the hydrophilization (wetting) of carbon-coated TEM support films and grids, which otherwise tend to be hydrophobic. Glow discharge treatment with air makes film surfaces negatively charged and hydrophilic and allows the easy spread of aqueous solutions. This and other processes are outlined below.

LAAAMP - Fast Team Grants

LAAAMP Fast Team Grants

Applications are now being accepted for FAST Team grants. These grants are designed to enhance advanced light source (AdLS) and crystallography sciences in eight world regions.

"The successful applicants will spend two (2) months during the Calendar Year 2025 at LAAAMP’s AdLS Collaborative Partners to acquire expertise in accelerator technology or AdLS beamline techniques, including those involving crystallography." IUPAP, IUCr, and ICTP will award the grants. The deadline to apply is October 31st, 2024.
