Tip leads to fugitive — plus two
handgun and drugs accomplices
Officers driving on South Lauderdale on April 14, 2023 were flagged down by a woman who said she was the victim of a drive-by shooting.
The woman explained that she was in a car with her two children and a male friend when one child’s father, Domenique Jones, pulled alongside their car and began firing a handgun.
Her friend was struck by bullets in the thigh, abdomen and buttocks. The children weren’t injured.
The suspect fled the scene, and a warrant was issued for his arrest.
Twelve days later — April 26 — a tipster provided a location on fugitive Jones. He was found inside a Nissan Sentra at an O’Reilly’s Auto Parts store on Lamar Avenue. Two other men were in the car.
Officers also found two stolen handguns, marijuana, cocaine and ecstasy, cocaine and hydroxyzine pills. All three were arrested on various charges, including attempted first-degree murder against Jones.
This tip led to all three being charged and transported to jail.
