On the night of the festival of Shavuot (the first night of Shavuot in the diaspora), it is traditional for Jews to stay up and learn Torah – a centuries-old custom known as Tikkun Leil Shavuot.
Rabbi Magat will be leading a Mussar Torah study this evening and you are invited to attend!

Religious School Mazel Tov to the Confirmation Class of 5782 |
Rabbi Magat, Cantor Shafritz & the rest of the Temple Emanu-El Congregation would like to wish a huge Mazel Tov to the Confirmation Class of 5782. They have gone above and beyond, through this past year, and exemplified leadership skills that we hope to see in the future. We are very proud of everything they have endured, and the persistence shown by this confirmation class.

Religious School Registration Now Open! |
We are excited to announce that Registration is now available for our 2022-2023 Religious School year. Our religious school starts as young as Kindergarten and runs all the way through 12th Grade.

Emanu-el's Havurah program? "Havurah" (plural "Havurot") comes from the Hebrew word for "friend." Here at Temple Emanu-El, a Havurah is a group which offers friendship and an extended family within our community.

Green Team: Go Green Event |

The GoGreen Teams program is a simple, easy and fun way to learn about climate and sustainability solutions, emergency preparedness and resilience and take actions! It is designed around 7 monthly hour long meetings with an intro meeting and a celebration meeting at the end.
This program provides us with everything we need to complete a series of fun interactive meetings that includes videos, games, discussion points, and action items.

Summer Kabbalat Shabbat Services |
We invite you to join us for our Kabbalat Shabbat Summer Series. Normally, we would have our Summer Shabbat on our courtyard patio, from June until August.
However, we will be starting construction the 2/020 Vision Project soon, which includes the renovation of our patio. The location of our Summer Shabbat Series may change to other areas of our campus, but everyone is still welcome to join us on Friday evenings at 6:30pm. Stay tuned for more information.

Non-Fiction Jewish Book Club |

Join Nat Cohen and the other members of the Jewish Nonfiction Book Club for a stimulating discussion on books that relate to Jewish life. Our next meeting will be on June 12 at 7:00 PM. We will discuss Operation Thunderbolt, by Saul David, a riveting account of the raid on the Entebbe airport. You won't want to miss this one, so register on the temple website.

Shavuot Summer Kick-off Party at the APJCC |

Celebrate the beginning of the long Shavuot weekend with us! Free access to the APJCC pool and the adjacent playground, along with crafts and fun, educational videos on the giant outdoor screen. Pizza, ice cream and other snacks are included, in honor of the holiday of Milk & Honey. A great way to kick off summer!

Help Respond to the Current Refugee Crisis: Did you know that in Santa Clara County, Jewish Family Services of Silicon Valley is one of only two nonprofits providing refugee resettlement and connected services for families and individuals?
Currently, JFS SV is assisting refugees from Afghanistan and other locations.
