Faith Speech on Trial in Finland
The Rev. Juhana Pohjola, Bishop of the Evangelical Lutheran Mission Diocese of Finland (ELMDF), will speak at the Lutheran Church of the Messiah, 407 Nassau St, in Princeton, NJ on Saturday, May 21, 2022, at 4:00 p.m. His presentation, Faith Speech on Trial in Finland, will reflect on his recent prosecution for publishing and distributing a pamphlet by Päivi Räsänen entitled, Male and Female He Made Them: Homosexual Relationships Challenge the Christian Concept of Humanity. Rev. Pohjola and Mrs. Räsänen were prosecuted in Helsinki District Court on charges of defaming and insulting homosexuals as a group on the basis of their sexual orientation. They were both acquitted on March 30, 2022, but the Finnish government’s Prosecutor General, Raija Toiviainen, has said she intends to appeal the court’s decision.

If you plan to attend this free event, click here to register or RSVP to LCMherald@gmail.com with the number of people attending by noon on May 19.

Bishop Pohjola will speak on the same topic at Mount Calvary Lutheran Church, 308 Petersburg Rd., in Lititz, PA, on Monday, May 23, 2022, at 7:00 p.m.
All Saints Campus Ministry
All Saints is Family

All Saints Lutheran Church and Student Center is family to students. That’s just what one of our college students said. He told me, “My goal is to return to the area after graduation so that I can remain a member at All Saints.” He is one of the family.

How did All Saints become family? From the beginning in 1977, this congregation intentionally made students feel like they were part of the family. All Saints was inclusive and friendly. Photos from the past show students taking part in worship, Valentine’s Day parties, and church picnics. That has not changed. Today church members provide transportation to worship, become “grandparents” by inviting students to their homes to work on school projects, and by coming to the Korean student meals to be with the students and to listen to their thoughts.

Virtual Conference for LSEM
All are welcome to attend the virtual conference for teachers presented by Lutheran Special Education Ministries. This unique, one-day event brings Christian teachers together in an online format for continuing education with amazing speakers and content.

The theme this year is "With One Voice" based on Romans 15: 5-6: May the God of endurance and encouragement grant you to live in such harmony with one another, in accord with Christ Jesus, that together you may with one voice glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Please feel free to reach out to Rebecca Lichtenberg for questions or reach out to Marty Moro for sponsoring information.

Blessing of the Bikes
God is good! Worship service and blessing event was delayed by a couple of hours on Sunday May 1, and they were blessed with great weather and lots of riders! Worship was followed by a blessing service in front of the church where more than 350 riders and motorcycles gathered. After the group blessing, lunch was served and all enjoyed live music. During the afternoon, members of a prayer team went around and offered to pray with the individual riders. What a joy to pray and talk with so many! Thanks and praise to God for providing this opportunity to serve Him!
