Hello Church!
This Sunday is our Annual Fall Festival and Chili Cook-Off! All proceeds go to support the school and there will be all kinds of games and activities for the children. My annual favorite is the train ride around the church/school campus. This is also the infamous night of the Chili Cook-Off. Sign up if you want to try to win the “Best Chili Award” or bring your family and some cash to purchase tasting tickets so that you can try each of the chilis. This will be a night to remember!
This Sunday is also our 4th Sunday in October, so we will have our 9:00 service followed by our Family Service at 10:30 am. For anyone thinking about baptism, we will have the baptism class following the 10:30 worship service. Because of the Fall Festival, we will not be hosting a meal after worship, but youth will meet following the Service.
We are close to the end of Philippians and this Sunday we will look at Philippians 4: 2-9. Paul is in prison, there has been some division in the church and one of their leaders, Epaphroditus, has been quite ill. Paul had to be really struggling with all of these issues hitting ham at once. Have you ever had a week like that? Yet, Paul’s word to the Philippian church is a helpful word for us today too. “Rejoice in the Lord always! Again, I say Rejoice!” As Christians, we are called to live in joy – even in the midst of our suffering. What are you grateful for today? If you are truly thankful, “Again, I say Rejoice!” See you all on Sunday!
