ROOTED IN FAITH, TRADITION, AND ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE
A LETTER FROM OUR PRINCIPAL
Dear Alumni,

March has been a time of faith-building for me.
Earlier this month, we had our Faculty Prayer Day. What a powerful day of being together and learning how we are witnesses for Christ. Teachers shared how they model their faith to their students and how we can build each other up to build saints. We read the Stations of the Cross, and a different faculty member gave a personal reflection after each station was read. We reflected, prayed, and celebrated Mass together. What a special day we got to spend with each other!
We had our Lenten Reconciliation service earlier this week. It always gives me chills to watch hundreds of high school students descend from the bleachers to spend some time with an area priest. It’s not a mandatory thing; no one’s getting a grade in Theology class for going to confession. Yet, every time our kids do it because it’s a part of who they are and whom they were raised to be.

I get to be a part of the team for the Kairos retreat for juniors next month, and I’ve been reflecting on my relationship with God and my faith journey. I’m excited to serve on the team alongside six seniors, four other faculty and staff members, and one area priest.

Thank you to so many of our area priests for pitching in and helping with both the Faculty Prayer Day and Lenten Reconciliation. They are always so willing to celebrate Mass with us, speak to classes, and serve on retreat teams. We are blessed to have so many men of faith giving their time and talents to our school community. They, along with our Campus Minister, Theology teachers, and really our entire staff, do so much to build the faith community at SFBHS.

I pray that you and your loved ones have a fulfilling Lent and a very happy Easter!
A Mass in Support of the Dieckhaus Family
The St. Francis Borgia High School family continues to hold the Dieckhaus family close in our hearts and prayers. We are offering a Mass in support of the family of Evelyn Dieckhaus on Monday, April 3rd, at 10:30 a.m. in our main gym. We invite any member of our community to join us at Mass to pray for continued healing, comfort, and peace.

“On behalf of the entire Dieckhaus family, we thank everyone for your continued thoughts and prayers as we grieve the unimaginable loss of Evelyn Dieckhaus. Evelyn was a shining light. She will be greatly missed by all.”

The Borgia Annual Fund
Earlier this year, we invited you to support us in the mission of St. Francis Borgia High School. Looking toward the end of the current school year and beginning preparations for the next remind us of the importance of our ANNUAL GIVING PROGRAM. While our mission is timeless, we, nevertheless, want to ask you, again, to support us.

We need your partnership to continue our tradition of excellence. Our students have extraordinary potential, and we all play significant roles in the global community through the power of the Catholic education we offer. Show your belief in Borgia through the support of our mission. Borgia stretches every dollar to maximize its impact on our students. The size of your donation is less important than the act of giving itself. Please make your gift to the Annual Fund today.

We can only accomplish our mission if we work together. If you are in a position to help, please make your gift by clicking the button below, scanning the QR code above, or texting borgia-annual-fund to 243725. You may also send a check to 1000 Borgia Drive, Washington, MO 63090.

SCHOOL NEWS
Annual Catholic Appeal
St. Francis Borgia High School welcomed Bishop Rivituso and members of the Archdiocese of Saint Louis Annual Catholic Appeal on March 16 to celebrate an all-school Mass. We are blessed to report a gift of $177,000, the most significant contribution to date that our school has received from the ACA! This gift was made possible by the generosity of donors throughout the Archdiocese of St. Louis, including parishioners in our local deaneries. Thank you to those who continue to support our mission of providing an affordable Catholic education for all!

Borgia Gives to Detective Sergeant Griffith
Photo compliments of Dana Marquart at Photogenics on Location
On March 15, our students and staff had a dress-down day to support Detective Sergeant Mason Griffith and Hermann police officer Adam Sullentrup through The BackStoppers Inc. Collectively, and we raised over $3,600 that day. At our all-school Mass the next day, St. Francis Borgia students and Hermann residents Peyton Grannemann and Aubrey Budnik presented Lieutenant Joe Renkemyer '89 and Washington Police Department Chief of Police Jim Armstrong with the check.

The Borgia community will continue to keep Detective Sergeant Griffith, Officer Sullentrup, their families, and the Hermann community in our prayers.
Senior Class Rosary
We invite you to pray the Rosary with our Senior class on April 13, 2023. Please join us in our school chapel!
Tuition Assistance
St. Francis Borgia is proud to have one of the lowest tuitions in the Archdiocese of St. Louis. We continue to offer high-quality Catholic education for less than other Catholic schools. We know tuition can be a struggle for many, so we partner with families who seek assistance. Currently, over 60% of our students receive some assistance.
