DiAnna Solomon

Dedicated to Investing in the Future of Michigan’s Children

In 2021, DiAnna Solomon joined the Board of Directors for Michigan CASA and joined the Marketing Committee where her knowledge and skills serve Michigan CASA well. DiAnna’s passion for supporting Michigan’s children is evident in her background and future goals for the organization.

Before joining the Board of Directors, DiAnna served as a behind-the-scenes volunteer for Michigan CASA and supported Wayne County CASA’s clothing closet. Her personal experience with volunteering for non-profits spans over 30 years, including serving on the Board of Directors for Cornerstone Schools, the Student Advocacy Center, and People for Palmer Park. One of the most pivotal moments in her life was volunteering for 12 years as a tutor and mentor with the Reggie McKenzie Foundation.

DiAnna’s passion for supporting children is rooted in her belief that children are one of our greatest assets and the foundation of our future. Her personal mission statement is to “show evidence of caring in all that I do and say.” As a mother of two college students, she understands the importance of investing in the future of Michigan’s children.

As a Board Member for Michigan CASA, DiAnna’s primary goal is to ensure every child in Wayne County and across the state has access to a CASA volunteer. Her vision for the organization is to become a household name for hope, and for every citizen in Michigan to know how and why they support abused and neglected children.

Looking towards the future, DiAnna’s personal goals include serving many more years on the Michigan CASA Board of Directors and working to ensure every county in Michigan has a CASA to support those children in need.

DiAnna Solomon is an inspiration to all who wish to make a difference in their community. Her dedication to investing in the future of Michigan’s children through volunteering and serving on the Board of Directors for Michigan CASA is a testament to her character and commitment to making a positive impact.

Five Ways

to Help Support Child Abuse and Neglect Prevention Month!

Child Abuse and Neglect Prevention Month is represented by the color blue

  1. Wear blue in April, snap a photo and post on social media why you are wearing blue. This helps us spread the message.
  2. Plant a blue pinwheel garden in the month of April for all to see. It helps start a conversation.
  3. Contact your elected officials and educate them regarding the child abuse and neglect prevention needs in your local community, and ask them to support funding and legislative initiatives that strengthen families, support parents, and expand child abuse prevention programming.
  4. Become a volunteer/member of a child abuse prevention/advocacy group, or organization in your community.
  5. Make a financial charitable contribution to a cause which will support families and children. Each donation makes a difference. We invite you to join us on April 27th at our Giving Children Hope fundraising event!

April is Volunteer Appreciation Month

so it is only fitting we here at Michigan CASA take the time to say a heartfelt thank you to all of the CASA Volunteers across the State of Michigan.

Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) are everyday people who are appointed by judges to advocate for the best interest of abused and neglected children living within the foster care system. A CASA volunteer advocates for one child's case until he/she is placed into a safe, permanent and loving home.
