Nevins Regular Hours

Mon. - Thurs. 9am-9pm
Fri. - 9am-5pm
Sat. 9am-5pm (Starting Sept. 10 2016)
We are very thankful this month to have so many wonderful patrons who come and visit us, and check out items and share their stories with us.  We will be under construction as our ramp is renovated to assure it is in compliance with state and federal codes.  This unfortunately will result in the inability to access the building for some of our patrons.  Please know we will do all we can to mitigate this for you and we invite you to visit some of our neighboring libraries during this time.
Library Ramp Renovation

The Library's access ramp will be closed for renovation beginning November 2, 2016, and construction will continue for approximately 8 weeks. Unfortunately this will limit access for persons in wheelchairs and parents with children in strollers. Access will be available via the main stairs only. Library staff are prepared to assist patrons who may have difficulty entering the library during this time. Staff members will be happy to deliver materials to cars for patrons who call ahead and drive up to the Main Entrance. Alternatively, patrons may request Home Delivery. Volunteers and staff have been recruited to deliver materials to patrons at home. Using the Library's on-line catalog makes it easy to find and request books and other materials for parking lot or home delivery. During construction a temporary book drop has been built into a window in the library basement. Signs will direct you to this temporary drop-off location. Please contact the Main Desk at 978-686-4080 ext 16 to discuss your options during construction. We apologize for any inconvenience this construction project may cause. For updates please check out the library's web site nevinslibrary.org

Internet Privacy Program this Month
Saturday November 12 @ 2pm
In the age of Big Data and constant connectedness, it's easy to feel like privacy is a relic of the pre-digital age. But what about those of us who are uneasy about sacrificing this basic human right for the convenience of new technologies? Join Alison Macrina of the Library Freedom Project for a special training event on protecting online privacy. Alison will teach about threats to privacy and technical tools that help people take back their digital privacy in the information age.

Backpack Fridays Return....Your donations are eagerly welcomed

The Nevins Library is supporting the Friday Food Backpack program for Methuen students again this year.  The Friday Food Backpack program sends food home with students whose families may need a little extra to get through the weekend or vacation period when school breakfast and lunches are unavailable.  If you can help these Methuen students out, please bring any non-perishable food items (no glass containers please) to the basket set up right inside the main entrance of the library.  The Nevins Library and the Friday Food Backpack program thank you in advance for your generosity.
