Oh What Fun!

Hello Knightdale! With only 11 days until Christmas, I know hearts are gearing up to enjoy friends, family and fun for the holidays. We've had some great times celebrating in our community leading up to the big day, and I want to thank you so much for coming out to celebrate with us!

I'm so excited about the many positive things going on around town, and I wanted to share just a few things going on with our citizens and community.

Knightdale Kicks off the Holiday Season with

the Annual Tree Lighting

The Town of Knightdale held its annual Tree Lighting ceremony on Friday, December 2. We all had so much fun watching the amazing dancers and musical performances. It's always so great seeing the community come out in unity to enjoy the beginning of the holiday season. And it's always great to see SANTA!!!

Thank you to all of the performers, vendors, participants and town staff who helped make this event a success. It truly was a wonderful start to the holidays. If you missed the event, click below to watch a video of highlights!

Knightdale Hosts Annual Christmas Parade

On December 10, the Town held its annual Christmas parade as a part of the Christmas on First Avenue celebration. It never gets old seeing all of the community organization floats, the bands and dancers, and all of the smiling faces in the crowd. It all symbolizes unity to me, and I love that that's what we have in Knightdale.

I am grateful to the members of the Town Council and Representative James Roberson for all of their holiday cheer and support. We wish everyone a wonderful and Merry Christmas!

Mayor Day Attends the

DAV Name-changing Ceremony

I'm grateful to have been invited, along with Wendell Mayor Virginia Gray, to the name-changing ceremony for the Disabled American Veterans (DAV). Now officially named the Wake County Chapter #1 of the NC DAV, the organization provides "a lifetime of support for veterans of all generations and their families." We in Knightdale honor our veterans throughout the year, and we are proud of the work the Wake County Chapter #1 does for our veteran community.

Knightdale Celebrates National Technical Honor Society Inductees

At the invitation of Laura Wright, the Career Development Coordinator at Knightdale High School, I attended the induction ceremony for outstanding Career and Technical Education (CTE) students in the National Technical Honor Society. These students are interested in pursuing careers in various trade industries.

Thank you to Bill Summers, Knightdale Town Manager, for speaking on behalf of the Town, and to Laura Wright for the invitation to attend this great event. We are so proud of our Knightdale young adults who are making magnificent strides towards their bright futures!

Upcoming Events

I hope you can join me at the following Town events!

Wreaths Across America

I hope you will join the Town of Knightdale and the Two Green Thumbs Garden Club at the Knightdale Station Park Veterans Memorial for the second annual Wreaths Across America event this Saturday, December 17, at noon.

Each December, the Wreaths Across America organization continues its mission to Remember, Honor and Teach by coordinating wreath-laying ceremonies across the United States. We hope to see you there as we honor our fallen soldiers and their families this holiday season.

Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or concerns about anything going on in our amazing town of Knightdale!
