WSDOT Announces
Service Restoration Plan
As crew and vessel resources become available over time, WSF plans to restore full ferry service on a route-by-route basis. The plan takes into account COVID-19 impacts to its workforce, regular ridership and peak summer ridership, plus the ability to hire, recruit and train employees, and the impact of retiring staff, and lack of vessels due to aging fleet.

State Relief for Hospitality Industry on the Way

Lawmakers approved a state budget that contains a HUGE WIN for the hospitality industry on the last day of the 2022 legislative session. The Washington Hospitality Association's continuous advocacy for businesses resulted in $160 million in assistance to the hospitality industry, conventions, arts sector and small businesses. Of that funding, $100 million is earmarked specifically for the hospitality industry, with $15 million dedicated to assist lodging properties that incurred costs associated with the eviction moratorium.

Another big win for hospitality – the budget includes $7 million to support lower liquor license fees through the implementation of HB 1359. This bill will reduce liquor license fees by 50% for those set to expire or issued between April 1, 2022, and Dec. 31, 2023.
