Dear Families and Caregivers,
Hope you are all enjoying the spring-like weather with the first day of spring this weekend and getting accustomed to the time change!

Sharing some exciting events within Elementary:
  • Siblings Brandon and Katelyn show up wearing TLC apparel to support Elementary’s basketball game against RISD; while Elementary has its first ever cheerleading team! They cheered on our MPS students during their game against RISD. They did a great job:
  • Fifth grade students in Keri’s class worked hard to research a volcano of their choice. They made a diorama, wrote two paragraphs, and presented it to the principal:
  • Students in Anne Marie’s second grade Language Arts class read “The Cat in the Hat” and started to make a new hat for the Cat. First, they designed a hat as individuals, then a different hat with a partner and made the last hat as a whole group. They used only scissors, glue sticks and construction papers. They learned to include everyone in the process. It was a challenging yet fun activity that taught them the importance of teamwork:
  • The middle school GSA read "And Tango Makes Three," did a matching activity, and colored penguin eggs with our Elementary students:

COVID Update:
Since masks are now optional for MPS students and staff, we are also changing some other COVID guidelines, including removing our social distance requirement, limited cafeteria seating and one-way entrances in buildings. These changes will begin Wednesday, March 23 to ensure students, families and staff have had time to receive clear notification. Please contact healthandsafety@tlcdeaf.org with any concerns and review our full plan at TLCDeaf.org/coronavirus
Have a wonderful weekend!
~ Sarah and Janice
