Reminder: School Rules still apply on Field Day!
Friday, June 2nd - Kindergarten-2nd Grade Session - 9:30-11:00 // 3rd Grade-5th Grade Session - 1:30-3:00
Puesta del Sol Playground and Field
Reminder: School Rules still apply on Field Day!
Even though Field Day is a fun activity for the students, it takes place at school during school hours so all school rules still apply!
These include:
- NO spray sunscreen is allowed at school!
- Only BSD registered Field Day Volunteers may attend.
- All volunteers MUST be registered with the Bellevue School District and that registration must be renewed every 3 years.
- You must have a valid reason (ie - volunteering) to be at school during school hours.
- No early student check-out after Field Day ends, unless it is for a valid appointment.
- Unless your student has a scheduled appointment, we can’t allow students to be taken out of school between the end of Field Day and the end of the school day. This causes undue stress on our office staff, who are managing a lot of additional activity on Field Day.

Students will be bringing home the GOLD this year. (Spoiler Alert: Everyone is a Gold Medalist on Field Day!)
Please help your student/s dress for today’s weather in P.E. attire and consider sending a change of clothes and/or a towel, just in case. There will be a water balloon toss station.
Also consider having your student/s wear sunscreen to school or bring sunscreen to put on.
- NO spray sunscreen is allowed at school!
-
If your student is bringing sunscreen, please review these BSD directions for sending sunscreen with your child to school - Using Sunscreen at School
We want to extend a HUGE THANK YOU to our Puesta del Sol families for making Field Day possible by volunteering, your wish list contributions, and donating to our PTA so they may fund exciting events like Field Day for our students. Thank you for all of your support!

After our initial pilot, we will keep going with the volunteering, but adjust to only Friday morning sessions starting on Friday, 5/19.
Starting on Friday 5/19, Fridays at 9:15-10:00am will be open volunteering sessions to gather and help out at school. On arriving, check out the PTA Office to find where we will be gathering and/or posting the volunteer task of the day.

Fifth Grade Graduation!
The Class of 2030 will celebrate their momentous six years at Puesta del Sol with a graduation ceremony on June 16th. The Ceremony will begin promptly at 5:30pm with time for mingling immediately following around 8pm. Please see below for deadlines and FAQ's:
RSVPs NEEDED: CLASS OF 2030 GRADUATION
RSVP Deadline for Tickets and Parking Passes: Monday, June 12th.
Fifth Grade Graduation will be held at 5:30 pm on Friday, June 16th.
Each student will be allocated a total of 7 tickets. This is many more than have been allocated in the past when graduation was at our old gym (then it was 2!), so we are thankful for the bigger space.
FAQs:
Q: How do I reserve my tickets?
A: Our RSVP link is live and available until June 12. You will need to create a (free) PTA account to RSVP if you do not have one:
Q: Are there any extra tickets available?
A. If a student has tickets that will be unused, those tickets can be given to other families. Often families will post on grade-level Facebook pages or ask friends for spare tickets. The tickets must be registered under the original student’s name. We cannot offer more tickets to any one student, per space issues in the auditorium.
Q: Where should I park for graduation?
A: We will be issuing parking passes for campus for the night of graduation (details to follow). We will have room for one car per student household on the school campus. If a student has two households needing a parking pass, please let us know before June 12 and we will try to accommodate this request. While we will do our best to have reserved spots, available parking spaces cannot be guaranteed.

Spring General Membership Meeting - Budget Highlights
At our Spring General Membership, we reviewed both this current Fiscal Year’s budget and approved the 2023-2024 school year budget for PTA.
Here are some budget highlights:
• Good news: our current net revenue for this Fiscal Year continues to stay on track, and allowed for our PTA to approve a new ask for additional literacy materials for the upcoming 2023-2024 school year in advance. The new request is for literacy manipulatives (including movable letters, and boards for students) that Bellevue School District will now require.
• A couple of programs will be “sunset”-ed due to no longer being run (Math Olympiad--program closed during pandemic), or no volunteer sign ups for last several years (WatchDOGs).
• Approved the 2023-2024 school year PTA budget, including:
- Additional stipends for: Puesta del Sol’s NEW Behavioral Specialist and Behavioral Technician roles, for our ITCL (Instructional Technology Curriculum Leader); also for new PTA roles for: Socioemotional (SEL) Liaison, and Recess Liaison.
- 2023-2024: A generous Building Improvement Plan (BIP) grant line for needs to support Puesta del Sol students’ learning in next year.
- Bringing back the Auction as our major Spring Fundraiser!
