IMPORTANT ISLAND UPDATES
PRUNE ALLEY CONSTRUCTION
  • Please consider using North Beach Rd and Madrona St to access Prune Alley businesses as road conditions may not be suitable for all vehicles.
  • 4-day work week is anticipated, with the site open Friday, Saturday, and Sunday for the Memorial Day holiday weekend.
  • Please continue to adhere to all posted traffic control devices and instructions from traffic control personal.
  • Traffic control map available here.
  • To ease parking on Main Street and North Beach Road San Juan County asks shoppers and employees to limit their street parking to 4 hours max. Employees should try to avoid parking in busy street locations.
MOUNT CONSTITUTION ROAD OPEN TO THE TOP!
In anticipation of the upcoming Memorial Day weekend the road work on Mt. Constitution Road has been temporarily put on hold. Driving access to the tower at the top of Mt. Constitution is open now through Monday evening, May 30. While you’re visiting the park be sure to stop in and check out the gift shop at the top, open 10 am to 5 pm.

2022 SALISH SEA EARLY MUSIC FESTICAL FINALE
Our final 2022 Salish Sea Early Music Festival performance features two of the most profound 18th-century orchestral works, Bach's Fifth Brandenburg concerto and his Triple Concerto, both for harpsichord, flute and violin, in one exuberant program with seven period instrument specialists from Canada, Montana and Washington on May 28 at 6 pm in Eastsound. Join Island Primary Care – Orcas for a 5k walk/run and health fair. WOMAN IN THE WOODS ANNUAL FUNDRAISER PARTY
Woman in the Woods Productions is delighted to announce that its' fourth annual fundraiser will be held Sunday, June 5, in the Madrona Room at Orcas Center. DANCE HEALING SERIES AT ODDFELLOWS HALL

Radiate Sparkles is our theme to welcome in the summer. Saturday, June 18 at noon, the parade will commence in town with music to follow on The Green. ORCAS ISLAND GARDEN CLUB - GARDEN TOUR 2022
The Orcas Island Garden Club invites you to our 2022 Garden Tour on Saturday, June 25 and Sunday, June 26. Six lovely gardens will be open from 11 am to 5 pm on both days. Tickets for the tour cost $20 and can be purchased at online, at Darvill’s Bookstore and Driftwood Nursery in Eastsound and at each of the tour gardens. More info here.

THE VISUAL ARTS COMMITTEE COMMUNITY ART SHOW
On display at the Orcas Center: In the Garden May 27 - July 5. Artists of all genres and ages are encouraged to participate with work that reflects a garden theme: flowers, landscapes, fruits and vegetables, animals, microscopic or broad, detailed or abstract. ORCAS ISLAND HISTORICAL MUSEUM
Orcas Island Historical Museum is gearing up for the summer. Come visit our remodeled Museum Store, see the Mapping Orcas exhibit and tour Crow Valley School. The Eastsound museum will be open Wednesday - Friday from 11 am - 3 pm and Saturday from 11 am - 2 pm. Crow Valley School will be open Thursday - Saturday, 11 am - 3 pm.

Your Orcas Island Health Care District is working on a strategic plan to build the health care system that the island needs and wants. FOREST DEMONSTRATION PROJECT TOUR WITH THE LAND BANK
Turtleback Mountain Preserve Friday, June 3 at 5:30 pm – 7 pm.
The San Juan County Conservation Land Bank, in partnership with the Islands Conservation Corps, Rain Shadow Consulting and the San Juan Preservation Trust, is offering a tour to highlight recent forest management work funded by a Washington Department of Natural Resources grant. Information here.

MARITIME CAREER WORKSHOP SUPPORTED BY EDC
Seafarers Worldwide Career Training is partnering with the Economic Development Alliance of Skagit County (EDASC) and the EDC of San Juan County to offer a one-day Maritime Career Workshop on Saturday, June 4. Participants will learn about the career pathways available locally, the steps to obtaining the necessary credentials to begin a maritime career, as well as hands-on experience... learn more here.
