Communicator Awards (Submitted by OGS Media Services)
New York, NY
The Communicator Awards are dedicated to recognizing excellence, effectiveness, and innovation across all areas of communication. It is the leading international awards program honoring talent in this highly competitive field. Founded nearly three decades ago, the Communicator Awards receives almost 5,000 entries from companies, agencies, studios, and boutique shops of all sizes, making it, globally, one of the largest award shows of its kind. For its 29th season, its aim was to bring clear and impactful storytelling to the forefront with an expanded representation of categories in Corporate Communications, Public Relations and Integrated Marketing.
This project would not have been possible without the media skills and masterful storytelling abilities of Chris Conto and the OGS Media Services team, 2017 Empire State Archives & History Award Laureate, Trust Steward and actor Stephen Lang, and, of course, the dramatic talents of our archivists. We are truly grateful!

Leaving a Legacy of Remembrance

Two champions of the importance of historical records recently passed away. The Trust would like to take a moment to honor the memories of Celedonia (Cal) Jones and Joseph Van Nostrand. They will be missed.
Celedonia “Cal” Jones was the Borough Historian Emeritus of Manhattan, serving as historian from 1997 until 2006. He was also trustee and distinguished fellow of the New York Academy of History and advisory board member of the Seneca Village Project.

Joseph Van Nostrand was a dedicated steward of the state’s historical court records, a knowledgeable helper to those conducting research, a supporter of the New York State Archives and a kind and thoughtful person.
