ISSUE NO. 306 / June 9, 2022
Sunapee Happenings
The sweet start of summer has fully landed here and we’re already busy beyond words, which suits us just fine after the quiet winter. Boats are being launched and summer cottages opened. Seniors have graduated with visions of exciting future ventures in their heads.  Young fawns have been spotted in the meadow and loons are hatching.
Cue the Music
It seems like yesterday that “The Beatles” burst onto the music scene
and hard to believe, now “Sir” Paul McCartney, was onstage at Fenway last week, celebrating his 80th year with a Birthday Tour!
Locally, July 1st marks the start of summer music on community bandstands
all around the lake. First on the stage at The Livery in Sunapee Harbor, will be
the trio, Decatur Creek. (Check: thelivery.org for info and tickets for the full
summer music series of concerts.) “Happenings” calendar will include summer music events in July & August.

Boating
Boating Courtesy ~

The 2022 boating season has begun. Lake Sunapee has a number of narrow coves and inlets. In these pristine areas it is ever important to be mindful of the distance between boaters, the shore and the wildlife that is all around. Marine Patrol Capt. Tim Dunleavy reminds us that, "It is illegal to operate a boat at greater than headway speed (6 mph or the slowest speed to travel and still maintain steerage) if within 150 feet of swimmers in the water, other boats, rafts or floats, swimming areas, docks or mooring fields, the shoreline, a bridge or while passing under a bridge.
