TEDC members came to Panama City Beach, FL to share the annual Spring Conference networking event. The Holiday Inn Resort was a beautiful location, and members came to share ideas with peers and engage with industry professionals.  Thanks to the more than 100 members who were in attendance.

Evan Hoffman from the Organization of International Investment and Mark Williams, Bridgestone Americas, led an informative panel discussion about attracting foreign investment. Gene Stinson of the SEDC delivered "Traits of Highly Successful Communities," followed by Rod Kirk, Technology Acceleration Specialist with the UTCIS. In the afternoon, the group split for lunch and the golf tournament.

On Friday, Tom Trent and Jim Murphy of Bradley, Arant, Boult Cummings LLP opened the presentations with an overview of what communities can do to ensure their site is industry-ready. Then, Spencer Sessions presented "Winning the Deal," which told the story of recruiting Google to Tennessee. This was followed by Jody Lentz' talk regarding the next generation of economic developers. The conference closed with updates regarding relevant legislation and from the TN ECD, TVA Economic Development and the TEP.
