avoid modifications: check information

We realize that errors occur. However, to avoid unnecessary modifications, please check to ensure all the information on the Promissory Note and Deed of Trust is correct prior to closing. Errors only slow down the review and purchase process.

However, when an error occurs, a modification will be necessary. Please follow the detailed instructions when completing CHFA Form 205: Modification of Promissory Note and/or Deed of Trust. Pay attention to names and dates, as all information must match.

Important:
  • All modifications must be emailed to the CHFA Loan Analyst listed on the suspend letter for approval, then signed by the borrower and/or lender.
  • If the loan has already been purchased by CHFA, such modifications must be emailed to your designated CHFA Final Documents Specialist.
Please contact CHFA Home Finance with any questions.
