Messiah Episcopal Church, Myrtle Beach

2024 Stewardship Mailing, Advent 2023

Please Consider A Pledge to Support the Ministry of the Episcopal Church of the Messiah in 2024

Pledge Ingathering December 3, 2023, The 1st Sunday of Advent

Dear Faithful People of Messiah:

As we look forward to the start of a new church year, it is time for us all to renew our commitment to the financial support of our church's operation. Our tradition has been to have the ingathering of pledges around Thanksgiving, as a reminder that we give to God's work out of gratefulness for the blessings that each of us has received from Our Lord. We are thankful. This year, we will have the Ingathering of 2024 pledges on the First Sunday of Advent, December 3, 2023. All of our pledges will be placed on the altar and blessed at the offertory on the First Sunday of Advent.

Messiah's 2024 operating budget will be formed from the total amount pledged. Thank you for your prayerful consideration of how you will give from your resources to the support of the ministry of The Episcopal Church of the Messiah. A pledge form is included in this E-news that you can print, clip and mail to the church, or bring with you to worship on December 3 or any Sunday in Advent. We also have pledge cards available in the church. Of course, if your need more time, we will accept your pledge at any time and in any form when you are ready! Your church needs you during this important time, as we prepare for a new future as The Episcopal Church of the Messiah, Myrtle Beach.

Faithfully Yours

Supporting the Ministries of Messiah, Myrtle Beach (photo above):

Childcare: One of the many ministries of Messiah is the childcare program that is provided during worship on most Sundays of the Year! We'll also have childcare at our 7pm Christmas Eve service! Your pledge dollars at work!

Church Secretary: Messiah expects to have the position of Church Secretary filled by the beginning of Advent. Please give so that we can have a better-functioning office during our time of transition.

Outreach: Did you know that Messiah gives a tithe (10%) of our annual budget to Outreach? This commitment to serving others is at the heart of who we are.

Music: We may be small, but we have an excellent music program. Your giving makes music happen at the Episcopal Church of the Messiah!

Clergy: Messiah has done well with part-time clergy since our founding ten years ago. First there was Fr. Randy Ferebee, who served Messiah for seven years before retiring a second time back to North Carolina, two years ago. Additionally Messiah has two priests who are parishioners, Rev. Jim Craig and Rev. George Welles, who also serve the church as clergy when needed. Now, Fr. John Sorensen has served us as part-time interim Vicar for almost two years, while living two hours away in Mount Pleasant. He expects to eventually be replaced by a full-time Vicar, living in Myrtle Beach, who can more effectively serve a growing Church of the Messiah congregations. Your generous giving will help us call a full-time, resident Vicar some time this Summer!

Please give generously to fund the ministry of Messiah Church, Myrtle Beach.

Dear Reader:

Messiah Episcopal Church is a congregation in transition, seeking to rebuild at a new location after losing our church property in a schism that started over ten years ago. It's an exciting time to be part of a congregation! Please join us at Church Sundays at 10am. Our Church and offices are located in a shopping center at 4201 North Kings Highway, adjacent to (behind) Finish Strong Fitness.

You can reach us by mail at PO Box 70367, Myrtle Beach, SC 29572, which is the address to which you can mail your pledge to support the ministry of The Episcop Church of the Messiah, Myrtle Beach.

Many Blessings to you,

Rick Stall, Senior Warden
