TOGETHER WE ARE THE HCMA
HCMA Physicians Meet with Lawmakers

Members of the Association met with area State lawmakers on March 11 to talk about priority legislative priorities. The topics included:

  • Making the prior authorization process less burdensome
  • Insurers, not medical practices, to collect co-payments from patients
  • Improving the environment for the recruitment and retention of physicians

Everyone agreed it was a good conversation and other legislative forums will be held before the regular session is over on May 4.

Door to Door COVID Vaccination Effort

March 26, 2022

9am-1pm Meeting

Hartford Department of Health and Human Services, Burgdorf Health Center, 131 Coventry, St., Hartford, CT
Teams made up of licensed clinicians (MD, DO, NP, RN, Pharm. D., etc.), health professions, undergraduate students and community outreach workers from the health department, knock on doors on streets where the COVID-19 vaccination rate is known to be low. The clinicians answer questions and have a conversation on the risks and benefits of vaccination and boosters. If the residents are unvaccinated or due a booster, and willing, they can receive a vaccination at that time. The response from the residents of the neighborhoods had been incredibly positive. The experience of those that volunteer their time to go out into the community, talk to residents on their doorstep has been incredibly fulfilling. Please consider volunteering!
