A Caring Pregnancy Resource Center of Northeast Colorado began in April 1999 and was federally approved as a 501(c)3 in 2001. The Pregnancy Center began with a small group of people praying in Sterling about the lives of children being lost prior to birth. A Caring Pregnancy Resource Center of Northeast Colorado provides viable options and practical solutions for women experiencing overwhelming challenges while pregnant so that every pregnant woman in Northeast Colorado can feel successful as a mom.
The Pregnancy Center first opened in Brush in 1999, adding Holyoke in 2008, and Yuma in 2016. The current Sterling location next door to the Family Center at 118 Main St. opened in 2016. Renovations of the original office took place upon moving in, and then again in a larger office down the hall two years later. Each location is operated by a Site Director, Assistant Site Director, and a team of volunteers. Additional parttime staff were added to help with the increase in services in 2016, 2018, 2020, and 2022. The Pregnancy Center currently has one fulltime and five parttime staff members, plus contracted and volunteer nurses, doctors, and sonographers. In 2017, the pregnancy center added Sterling to its existing annual banquets and invited national celebrities and speakers into the community.
In 2018, funds were raised to purchase and design a mobile medical vehicle to provide limited ultrasounds to confirm pregnancy under the direction of Dr. Julia Trevino-Emerson. A parttime Nurse Manager and certified sonographers were added. In 2019, local Sterling doctors began referring their patients to the pregnancy center for the one-on-one emotional support and practical helps the pregnancy center offers. By 2019, the pregnancy center was providing classroom presentations in 21 school districts.
In 2020, A Caring Pregnancy Resource Center of Northeast Colorado celebrated 20 years at its four banquet venues the last weekend in January. In 2021, almost 200 women were helped through A Caring Pregnancy Resource Center of Northeast Colorado, with more than sixty (60) women and their families receiving practical helps and one-on-one emotional support in Sterling.

Shoppers Don’t
Want To Go There

There’s an area of your retail store shoppers will avoid: the first eight feet after your doors. Some call it the decompression zone, some call it the threshold area—it should be called The Hell Zone. They might remember a past experience where an aggressive employee pounced on them wanting to shake their hand.
