Donna Visits Tanya Gonzales State Farm Insurance
Driving to Tanya Gonzales’s State Farm Agency, my mother’s voice popped into my head as I thought about different types of insurance Tanya and I might discuss. I vividly remember my mom reiterating, when I was in my early 20’s, how critical insurance was. She would say, “Donna Lee, never go without insurance. It is so important.”

As I parked and entered Tanya’s office, I couldn’t help but feel welcomed. In fact, the entire office was so peaceful and calming. Tanya and her husband Michael, also an agent, provided a brief tour of the nicely decorated space which faces Hawthorne Boulevard. Governor Signs New Employment Laws for 2019
With a few strokes of his pen on September 30th, 2018, the last day to sign or veto bills, Governor Jerry Brown altered the landscape for California employers in a number of significant ways.

U.S.-Canada Reach NAFTA Agreement Before Deadline, Branding New Pact the U.S.-Mexico-Canada-Agreement
Late Sunday night, just before the midnight deadline, the U.S. and Canada came to an  agreement  on a new trade pact, rebranding it the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA). The joint statement touts the new agreement as creating “freer,” “fairer” and more “robust economic growth in our region.”

The revised successor to the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) is once again officially a trilateral deal. Meeting the midnight deadline allows the countries to sign the deal with Mexico’s outgoing president, Enrique Peña Nieto, before he leaves office on December 1.

President Donald J. Trump said he plans to sign the agreement by the end of November and then will send it to Congress. However, Congress likely won’t vote on the agreement until next year, as it still has a number of procedural hurdles to clear under the Trade Promotion Authority (TPA). Read more...

Additionally, the information that the Chamber has on file for its members will be going to print in the 2019 Torrance Magazine & Resource Guide (see below) in January.
