Evangelism Through Medicine^®

On January 6th, a 16 member healthcare team left the USA to serve with CPI's National Director Helmuth Marroquin and our church partner in Fraijanes, Guatemala.

The U.S. team consisted of medical, chiropractic, and physical therapy physicians, a University of Cincinnati pharmacy professor & student, two dentists, and willing laypeople. The dental clinic was comprised of CPI's two U.S. dentists and Guatemalan dentist & pastor, Dr. Fernando Marroquin, his son & dental student Leo Marroquin, and two Guatemalan dental assistants. Hundreds of patients were cared for during the week in Fraijanes, many of whom had not had access to medical or dental care for years.

Not only were the lame made to walk, the blind to see, and the sick physically healed, but spiritual healing took place as well - 74 men, women, and children made a profession of faith in Jesus Christ after hearing a clear presentation of the Gospel message in the "Clinic of the Soul" - to God be the glory, great things He has done!

"The blind receive their sight, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, and the deaf hear, the dead are raised up, and the poor have the Gospel preached to them. And blessed is he, whosoever shall not be offended in me." Matthew 11:5-6

2022 marks Caring Partners International's 30th year in Ministry! Our Board & Leadership Team are excited to honor this anniversary year with a special return to an in-person CPI Banquet, taking place on Thursday, April 28th.

On Tuesday, February 22nd, a CPI surgical team will travel to Guatemala to perform obstetrical surgeries. CPI is blessed to have a wonderful partnership with a group of Guatemalan physicians who donate their time to serve with our U.S. teams during our healthcare clinics. Some of these Guatemalan physicians also serve at a polyclinic outside of Fraijanes, and this is where our U.S. and Guatemalan physician partners will perform the surgeries. Please join us in prayer for the women and their families as they prepare for these operations. Many of the patients have needed these types of surgeries for quite some time. Pray for our Guatemalan church partner who will host the families and patients as some patients must travel quite a distance to the polyclinic. Pray for both physical and spiritual healing to take place, and for the Lord to use this healthcare outreach in a mighty way, for His glory!

The CPI Board and missionary team offer praise to God for leading this healthcare ministry through the pandemic, and now to CPI's 30th year of ministry. We praise God that despite a multitude of obstacles, CPI donated over 37 million dollars worth of medications and medical supplies to the U.S. and foreign mission field in 2021, impacting thousands of lives for the Kingdom.
