WEEK OF MAY 15, 2023

Dear members of Wisconsin's Creative Economy Coalition:     

We've been amazed and appreciative of the quick and steady outpouring of support you’ve shown to grow awareness of the urgent need to invest in the creative sector throughout Wisconsin. In less than two weeks, hundreds and hundreds of supporters across the state have organized, sent messages into the State Capitol, and talked with friends. Thank you! We’ll be relying on you and these supporters for help again soon.  

Our efforts are poised to make a real difference as we continue on a path to transformative support for the creative sector. As we move forward and prepare next steps, here’s how you can help continue to build the infrastructure needed to be successful:

1. Continue to share your story. As we prepare for the next round of our efforts to secure funding for the creative sector, we want to highlight organizations and leaders around the state with a compelling story that connects their work to the creative economy. Please let us know your recommendations (or sign up yourself!) on the Coalition sign-up form, and a member of our team will follow up with you to learn more. 
2. Help grow the Coalition statewide.  It's easy to "Join the Coalition" at WisconsinCreates.com. Let your peers and your circle of friends know what is happening and ask them to sign up to receive updates.  Don’t forget, vendors and suppliers play a role in the creative sector too, so share the info with them and keep them in the loop. As we move forward, we’ll communicate with this wide-ranging group of leaders to help secure the support we need to power the creative sector. 
3. Identify champions. We are looking for leaders who are well-connected and influential who can speak to decision makers on our behalf. Who are the movers in your community?

We recognize that it’s critical to establish a fair and equitable way to utilize the artistic endowment foundation so that entities throughout the state will benefit. Watch for regular updates from the Creative Economy Coalition as efforts move forward.  We plan to assemble this coalition for a virtual update meeting soon, and will circulate more details in the coming weeks.
