Welcome to the Friday Waypoint where you'll find the latest updates about opportunities & activities with the Florida Trail Association.

Trail maintenance season is upon us along with the cool weather, so we're sharing how you can get involved on the Florida Trail this Fall!
Kicking Off Trail Season with the Next Gen Work Party
Last week, the Florida Trail Association hosted a Next Gen Volunteer Work Party at Alexander Springs in Ocala National Forest. Members of FTA's Next Gen Coalition and newcomers to the Trail collaborated with the Highlanders Chapter for a weekend of trail maintenance.

The team ran three crews over the course of two days and maintained 17.5 miles of the Florida Trail! The crew enjoyed a swim at Alexander Springs after a long day of trail maintenance. The Highlanders Chapter expressed their gratitude and we hope to make the Next Gen Volunteer Work Party an annual event. Thank you to all who volunteered!
Join us at a Volunteer Work Party!
If you see the FTA booth at a community event, grab one of these beautiful project cards featuring artwork by @v.steiner @freehandgoods. Along with gorgeous flora & fauna, each card lists our schedule of Volunteer Work Parties throughout the state.

A Florida Trail Volunteer Work Party is a scheduled trail maintenance event that includes meeting new people, eating great food, and getting trail work done, even if you've never done it before! Our staff coordinates the camp location, food, and maintenance plan. Unlike our regular chapter maintenance events, these events are usually larger and can range from one day to several days. Come for one day, or for the entire time.
