Covid Protocol
Everyone will need a mask to enter the building, and adults 18 and over must present proof of vaccination at the door. We will have volunteers at the library door to check vaccine cards, just as with the winter concerts. Everyone must enter the main doors to go to the theater. People will be given a small note paper to show at the ticket table or to the ushers that they've had their card checked. Student volunteers will serve as ushers to get people to their seats and hand out programs. (Guidelines subject to change.)
Please leave plenty of time to get checked in for the show! Doors open at 6:30 pm.

Orchestra
Symphonic and Concert Orchestras’ Outstanding Performance at Wintergrass
February 27 was a big weekend for the BHS Symphonic and Concert Orchestras. They were members of a collaborative ensemble (made up of musicians from BHS, Cleveland HS, and SPU) that performed at the Wintergrass Festival, which wrapped up in Bellevue at the Hyatt Regency. They gave “a life changing performance at the Wintergrass festival” says Ms. Fortune, and performed 10 pieces, with four sets of guest artists:
- Darol Anger and Mr. Sun
- Joe Craven and Mamajowali
- Pearl Django
- Hubby Jenkins
As a part of the festival, there was also a collaborative video project that included (along with the above schools) 8 additional high school orchestras from around the nation. This was filmed a couple of weeks ago on a Saturday, so you know that these kids have been working ultra-hard to get ready for this event. Check out the video here: https://vimeo.com/680766563/82a9cecb48
Chamber Orchestra WMEA Program to Be Performed at BHS April 7
Due to weather conditions, Chamber Orchestra was not able to perform at the Washington Music Educator Association Conference in Yakima. It is a big honor to be selected to perform there, so Ms. Fortune has arranged for a performance here in Seattle to honor this group that has worked so hard.
Performance will be Thursday April 7 (time TBD) at Ballard High School. Stay tuned for more details.
