One More Day to Nominate for 2024 Champions for Children Awards *

The Children's Trust has extended its nomination period for its 2024 Champions for Children Awards Ceremony until Thursday, November 16, at noon. There is still time to submit nominations for next year's award ceremony to be held on April 11, 2024. Nominations for the David Lawrence Jr. Award, Excellence in Direct Service Award and the Excellence in Youth Leadership Award can be submitted via our Champions for Children page by clicking below. In this training, teachers learn how to use reading assessment data from the ORF and Maze assessments to identify struggling readers and to develop reading intervention plans unique to each student. FREE Youth Mental Health First Aid Training *

If you interact with youth and care to see them live safe and healthy lives, Hope for Miami has a training for you! Hope for Miami’s Project Bridge offers Youth Mental Health First Aid to any adult who interacts with teens (or parents of adolescents). Teach parents/caregivers about mental wellness with a FREE program "Ending the Silence" (ETS) presented by the National Alliance on Mental Illness Miami-Dade County. ETS is a 60-minute or longer virtual/in-person presentation that increases knowledge about warning signs of mental health issues, diminishes stigma, encourages families to seek help, and provides local and national resources. Family Engagement and Post Secondary Preparedness Grant for South Dade Youth Serving Programs

The United Way Miami Community Impact Team is searching for a new Impact Grantee program that serves youth in South Dade neighborhoods focused on family engagement and post-secondary preparedness. This is open to 501c(3) agencies that may have or not have had a relationship with United Way in the past. The grant is $30,000 for two (2) years and six (6) months, totaling $90,000. Grants Available for Local Projects in Line with Microsoft Justice Reform Initiative

The Urban Institute and the Microsoft Justice Reform Initiative are requesting proposals for the next round of the Catalyst Grant Program, due November 17. Check out the grant application website to learn more about the program and how to apply.

The grant program is seeking proposals for local projects that advance the focus areas of the Microsoft Justice Reform Initiative, which include supporting policies, programs, and practices that prevent unnecessary system involvement and decrease racial and ethnic disparities in policing and prosecution. Each grantee will receive funds to cover project implementation; assistance on data, policy, and community engagement from Urban Institute; access to Microsoft technology and related support; and peer learning opportunities.

Assistant Site Director

The Assistant Site Director (ASD) is responsible for the efficient and effective delivery of programs and services that most directly affect Breakthrough Miami Scholars and families.
