Literacy
Students develop a love for reading using flashlights

Each week during their regular library visit, each class at Two Rivers Elementary School is invited to bring their flashlights to school and use them to read fiction books during a quiet "lights-out" read-to-self time.

"This activity is a great favorite among our students. Students from TK through 5th grade always cheer when they hear that it is "Flashlight Fiction" week at Two Rivers," explains Mrs. Ripley, librarian at Two Rivers Elementary. The best part of this experience for students is yes to lights off and to find a spot anywhere to read (even under tables!) Here is a look at "Flashlight Fiction" week at Two Rivers.
