Fresh Trivia:
Did you know?

The First Farmers
Around 12,000 years ago, hunter-gatherers made an incredible discovery. They dug up the ground, scattered a few wild grains, and learned how to farm.

Farming meant that these stone-age, early humans could better control their sources of food by growing plants and raising animals. They did not have to move in search of food and eventually began to settle in one place all year round.

Buffalo Cauliflower "Wings" - Lauren Miyashiro

1 head of Cauliflower, cut into large florets

1 c. flour

1 c. milk

½ tsp. salt

½ tsp. garlic powder

Freshly ground black pepper

1 c. buffalo-style hot sauce

¼ c. butter, melted

Ranch dressing, for serving

*********************

1. Preheat oven to 450° F and line two large baking sheets with parchment paper.

2. Make batter: Combine flour, milk and garlic powder in a medium bowl. Season with salt and pepper and whisk until the batter is smooth.

3. Dredge cauliflower in batter until evenly coated. Shake off excess batter and transfer cauliflower to the lined baking sheets. Bake until the cauliflower begins to turn golden around the edges, about 20-25 minutes.

4. Meanwhile, make buffalo sauce. In medium bowl, whisk together hot sauce and melted butter until evenly combined. Toss baked cauliflower "wings" in the sauce before serving.

5. Serve with ranch dressing.
