Join us for 4 one-hour sessions to explore tablets. With step-by-step instructions on every page, the Generations on Line ® interactive tutorial guides beginners with little or no online experience through the basic swiping, tapping, and voice recognition techniques required for interacting with a tablet/smartphone.
Once these skills are mastered, seniors are led onto the Internet, taught how to search, use video calling/texting/email, download and use apps, use the camera, and even YouTube. The coach guides and encourages the learner as required, but much of the learning is self-paced. Don’t have a tablet? You can borrow one from IVPL.

Using Hummingbird kits for coding offers an engaging and hands-on experience, enabling learners to integrate robotics and electronics into their programming projects, fostering both technical and creative skills.

These Vinyasa flow classes offer body strengthening postures and postures to encourage flexibility all through using breathing techniques. These flow classes are great for beginners!

Guest Poet:Dr. Juanita Kirton earned MFA from Goddard College (2015) in Creative Writing & Poetry and was the recipient of the Goddard College Spirit Scholarship. Juanita is published in several anthologies including, AVOW (American Veteran Association for Women Magazine), A Journal of Hope and Healing, Caribbean Writer, Chester H. Jones Literary Journal, Clevergirl, Exit 13 Magazine, and Dream Quest.
Juanita’s poetry manuscript titled Letters to my Father, was accepted for publication by Finishing Line Press, 2020. Her poem Fall Skates won second prize in the Dream Quest One Writing Contest, 2020. She is the recipient of the Baker Veterans Writing Scholarship, 2018 to attend the Longleaf Writers Conference in Seaside Florida. She won the Sisters in Script self-publishing grant, 1999 and her Peace Haiku was selected for Peace Mural in Philadelphia.
Juanita is a member of Women Who Write, Inc., International Women’s Writing Guild and Women Reading Aloud workshop series.Dr. Kirton served fourteen years in US Army and enjoys touring the US on her motorcycle. She lives in North East PA with her spouse.
Juanita's visit will include readings of her award-winning poetry, a lively discussion on the writing life, and a brief writing exercise* with Q&A.

Join us as we welcome local author Jim Kerr, who discusses his debut novel, A Long Walk Home, an inspirational tale about the power of faith and resilience in getting through the tough patches of life. His book explores his journey of job loss, cancer, divorce, and severe depression, and how these experiences spurred him to reexamine his life and courageously pursue his long held dream of being an author. In 2021, he left his corporate career to pursue that dream, and haven't looked back. Jim is a native of Montgomery and Bucks counties and currently live in Harleysville.

Farewell...is the End -- The Final Dying Words of Military Leaders in History

Join military historian, lecturer, and tour guide Michael Jesberger for a presentation on the final words, emotions and thoughts attributed to military leaders and soldiers throughout history.
A roundtable discussion of classic education texts, both ancient and modern, to explore different educational ideas. We will read texts ahead of class from authors such as Plato, Aristotle, Barr, and Holt and come prepared to openly discuss the learning principles put forward by each author.
We will meet monthly to discuss a different text, so registration will be needed to sign up for each class separately. Once registered, PDFs of the text that you will need to read ahead of time will be emailed to you.

Helping the Homeless, While Recycling!
Did you know recycled grocery bags can create colorful, woven mats for homeless individuals in our community? Through a partnership with Integrate for Good and Angels in Motion, the Indian Valley Public Library is joining the project. Each week community members will join to learn different parts of the project including cutting bags, making loops, making "plarn" (plastic yarn), and weaving the mats on a loom.
