A Grand Time Was Had By All

Thanks to those that joined us for our celebratory events in Seattle and Spokane earlier this month. These were the first in-person Filmworks events in over 2 years and the passage of ESHB 1914 provided the perfect backdrop for laughter, conversation and hope for the future.

Board Chair Don Jensen and Executive Director Amy Lillard spent time at each event talking about what was in the bill and the immediate priorities for the organization which include program design, raising an additional $11.5M via our unique funding mechanism and hiring additional staff. A special shout out to our friends at WIF Seattle for hosting us at their Second Tuesday networking event.

We also want to thank Prime Sponsor Lisa Wellman (D, 41) for joining us at the Seattle event to talk about how all the magic happened in Olympia.

Couldn’t make one of the events IRL? Don’t worry. We recorded the Spokane presentation! (Thanks Juan Mas and B&B Pro Video for helping to make that all happen!)

You can find the 30-minute presentation on Washington Filmworks’ YouTube page.

So save the date for our first post-legislative session update at 5:00 pm on Thursday, June 29, 2022. See you there!
