May is Mental Health Awareness Month. Millions of citizens across the globe are directly or indirectly affected by mental illness. We all likely know someone or have ourselves been affected by stress, trauma, substance abuse, depression, and related issues. Many treatments have emerged to counter mental health issues; however, there is more work to be done, especially with prevention.
To help aid in that effort, Pace’s Wellness Advisory Committee and community members have put together a series of initiatives and events happening throughout the month, all designed to help you de-stress and develop new skills to promote overall mental health.
If you would like to offer a mental health initiative not already on the University’s event calendar, please register the event for inclusion on Pace's Event Calendar and contact me (hfeldman@pace.edu) with the information.
In addition, the Wellness Advisory Committee and subcommittees of students, faculty, and staff are hard at work to develop our first Pace University Wellness Strategic Plan. We look forward to public review in Fall 2022 when we will ask for your feedback before preparing the final plan for implementation.
Stay safe and have a peaceful month!
