In the final week of our Family Drama series, we will look at David's neglect of his responsibilities as a father and Absalom's rebellion culminating in a tragic family conflict that ended in loss and grief. This story underscores the importance of addressing issues within the family, the need for compassionate leadership and the deep sorrow that accompanies rebellion and estrangement.

Trevor Miller, Family Pastor, will be preaching in the Auditorium for the Contemporary Worship services; Rachel Carosiello, Adult Discipleship Pastor, will be preaching in the Sanctuary for the Traditional Worship services.

For those worshiping remotely, you're invited to watch our services online, on Facebook and YouTube.

Fall Men's Event

Men, we are thrilled to invite you to a special event on September 17 from 6 to 8:30 PM, as we welcome Joe Theismann, legendary NFL quarterback and Super Bowl champion, to share with the men in our community! Joe will be sharing his powerful insights on what it looks like to live in relationship with God, drawing from his personal journey of faith, perseverance, and success both on and off the field. There will also be a great meal provided by Hudsons BBQ. Register here for a general admission ticket or a meet and greet ticket. Don’t miss this chance to be inspired and encouraged in your own faith journey. Invite your friends and family— guys of all ages are welcome!

Ben Fuller Concert

We are excited about our first concert with Concerts at Mt. Horeb on September 19 featuring Ben Fuller. By turning his testimony into song, he shares his story filled with hope, mercy and grace. Tickets are on sale now for this kick-off concert. To join our sponsorship program and to purchase tickets to this concert, visit mthorebchurch.org/concerts.

Membership Class

Whether you are seeking information about the church or ready to join, you are invited to attend our Membership Class on September 22 from 3 to 5 PM in Room 820. Those who wish to join the church will have that opportunity at the end of the class, and those not ready yet can return to a future class for additional information and/or join. Register here or through our Mt. Horeb app.

Baptism Class

Our next Children’s Baptism Class will be held Sunday, September 22 at 5 PM. As Global Methodists, we believe infants and children whose parents are committed to raising their children in the faith can be baptized. Our church is committed to coming alongside parents in assisting with that process until those children are able to profess faith in Jesus for themselves. If you want to have your children baptized or learn more about what we believe about baptism, we look forward to seeing you in this class. Once you have completed the class, you can choose from one of our scheduled dates for in-service baptisms. Email baptism@mthorebchurch.org with any questions.

Poverty Simulation

It is difficult for those of us with enough to truly understand the situations that families living in poverty experience every day - the decisions they have to make, the fears and frustrations they feel. That is why we are inviting our church family and community members to experience just a glimpse of what it is like through the Community Action Poverty Simulation on October 2 at 6:15 PM.

Participants will assume the role of a low-income family member living on a limited budget. The event is divided into four increments, each representing one "week", in which you must provide for your family and maintain your home.

Adults and children in the 3rd grade and up are invited to participate! Kids Ministry programming is also available that evening from 6 - 7:30 PM for younger children.

You can register yourself and family members, with friends, or as a small group. Limited space is available and registration closes on September 25. Register here.

We're looking forward to opening our eyes to the realities of living in poverty together, so that we can better serve all people the way that Jesus did.

Meet and Greet Membership Reception

We want our congregation to welcome our newest membership class on September 29. Come by the Student Room after the 10:45 AM services for a drop in and meet the newest members of our Mt. Horeb family. We are excited to give you the opportunity to make them feel welcome!

Photos Needed for Celebration

As January approaches, we are planning some exciting things for Pastor Jeff’s retirement party. One of the things we are looking for are pictures from the “Old Days.” Please bring any photos you may have of Pastor Jeff and Lynn that we could use in celebration of the years he has been at Mt. Horeb. If you drop them off in the church office, we will scan them and get them back to you. Thank you in advance. We know many of you have some great pictures!
