Join the North Coastal Sheriff's Station for Community Park Day at La Colonia Park this Saturday, April 15th from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Chat with deputies onsite, learn about local crime prevention programs and get to know the Deputies who serve your community. This free family friendly event will have Sheriff enforcement demonstrations, professional equipment on display, and featured games and giveaways for children. Please note that the Sheriff’s ASTREA helicopter will not be landing in the park as previously advertised but will instead perform a flyover as part of the enforcement demonstration.

Learn How to Grow, Nurture, (and Love) Succulents

The Friends of the Solana Beach Library presents a special educational event “How to Grow, Nurture, (and Love) Succulents!” on Tuesday, April 18th at 6:00 PM at the Solana Beach Library. Join Tina Zucker, owner of Succulent Gardening and a local succulent expert, to learn about plants that are better suited for our local terrain and weather. Planting, growing and caring for a succulent garden is quite a bit different than the plants we are used to as backyard gardeners. This free ‘hands-on’ demonstration will teach you how to properly plant, water, fertilize, and propagate beautiful succulents.

Climate Action Plan Update Workshop

Join the City and the Climate Action Commission for the first workshop in support of the Climate Action Plan (CAP) Update on Wednesday, April 19th, from 5:30 to 7:30 PM in the City Council Chambers. This public workshop will consist of a presentation on the City's CAP Update, followed by a facilitated engagement activity to get input on each of the major greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions sectors. Come share your ideas, provide feedback on ways to reduce GHG emissions, and help address equity to build a more resilient community.

Glenmont Neighborhood Pocket Park Workshop

Please join us for the second Glenmont Neighborhood Pocket Park Community Workshop on Thursday, April 20th, from 5:30 to 7:30 PM in the City Council Chambers. The City has been developing the conceptual engineering and landscape design for a small neighborhood park on approximately half an acre of the Santa Fe Irrigation District's water reservoir site on Glenmont Drive. During this public workshop, the updated design will be presented and additional input from the community will be solicited for this neighborhood pocket park.

Temporary Road Closure on Dahlia Drive | |
The Solana 101 “Sandbox” development project at the corner of HWY 101 and Dahlia Drive is nearing completion! As one of the final steps, the developer will need to clean up and provide improvements to the surrounding streets: Dahlia Drive, Sierra Avenue and Highway 101. For safety measures and to construct these improvements, Dahlia Drive will be closed starting Monday, April 17th through Friday, April 28th. The sidewalk along the south side of Dahlia Ave will be open for pedestrian traffic. Appropriate signs and traffic control devices will be in place to properly direct vehicular traffic through the work zone.

Pacific Surfliner Will Resume Full Service
Through San Clemente

It’s time for a train ride! Full passenger service between San Diego and Los Angeles is set to resume next week after a nearly six-month suspension to stabilize a landslide in San Clemente. Amtrak’s Daily Pacific Surfliner service will return to full service through San Clemente on April 17th, with 10 round trips each day between Los Angeles and San Diego. The bus connection between Oceanside and Irvine used during the stabilization project will no longer be required. To celebrate, Amtrack is offering 25 percent off Pacific Surfliner trips for a limited time.
